  1. Syracuse Chiefs look to be doing something coming up as well as the Louisville Bats. I think the new Bowling Green set is really really bad. And even worse compared to their last set. SME must have let little Skippy the intern design this with MS Paint. Biggest disappointment to me was the car rendering and the BG. In a vacuum nobody would know those are flames coming from the G. Looks like a bad devil tail. This is an Indy ball identity.
  2. I guess I am here to beat a dead horse over and over again.... As far as a team name aspect the ownership group comes to the table with ideas in mind as well as the rebranding firm. This all gets hammered out over time in brain trust meetings. Typically it's narraowed down to the top 3-5 that the TEAM wants. Not the design firm. Now things are a little different with a "name the team" contest, but not much. Teams that have 15 different word marks and logos WANT 15 different logos. Do people really think teams are forced to do something they don't want? Rebranding firms work for the teams not the other way around. Has anyone thought about why the hell a team wants so many logos, hats, jerseys etc? It's all about the money. The results are in and those teams sell the hell out of merchandise. Very appealing to a team owner IMO. That's why you continue to see this trend in MiLB. The contingency on this board is a very small sample size of the general merchandise buying population. Just because we think every MiLB team should look like the Reno Silver Sox of 1948 doesn't mean that it what people of 2015 want. Matter of fact it's not what they want. So while we all complain of names that we see being proposed for our local minor league affiliate lets take a step back and think about the big picture and why it's that way. Welcome to MiLB in the 2010's. Money always talks!
  3. Being an outsider on this one, but why Huckleberries? What is the signifigance of that name to Hartford and New England besides growing wild in spots? Plus not to be a Debbie Downer, but you guys know how these name the team "vote now" things work right? Pretty sure the name has already been chosen. Could be wrong and this could actually be a "real" name the team contest, however I wouldn't hold my breath.
  4. I like all of those logos. However Daytona is a Studio Simon production.
  5. I always find Brandoise odd. I love and hate there stuff. It's like they seem to wanna do the same thing with every team. I for sure see why a lot of people love or hate their stuff. I for one am a fan of Brandiose because of their out of the box ideas that tie into the region or team name. MiLB is supposed to fun and not dull. The reason you see the "same" tendencies for most teams that hire them is because that is what the team wants. Brandiose rebrands bring in big bucks comapred to other company rebrands. Plus another thing to keep in mind with Brandiose stuff and whoever else creates rebrands. They are all tied down by what the team wants. If a team wants 2 caps and 2 jersey's thats what they will get. They want 6 caps and 6 jerseys...thats what they will get. The problem isn't so much with Brandiose. Its with the era of the rebrand we are in now. The more caps, logos, alts. etc... the better and more revanue for the teams. Is some of the stuff overkill....absolutley. However thats what the teams want.
  6. I obviously know you are exaggerating, but I still say unlikely. However something with Teddy riding a horse or something along those lines would be pretty nice IMO especially compared to the existing Frisco set.
  7. He could go with the extreme stretch that he trained the Roughriders in Texas. But that was at Ft. Sam Houston. In San Antonio. he could always pretend they took the train past Frisco though. Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!! I may be in the minority here, but if they did something based off of Teddy I think it would be pretty damn cool. The actual name of the team is based off of Teddy Roosevelt's "Rough Rider" Calvary. So why would something with Teddy be such a stretch? Maybe I'm missing something here...besides the hatred for everything Brandiose.
  8. You do know that Studio Simon, Brandiose etc do not choose the names right?
  9. Just out of curiosity what is your guys' perfect rebrand of a MiLB team in recent memory? Seems to me the majority of people on here think most rebrands are either too gimmicky and whimsical or too boring and forced. Too many Statler's and Waldorf's in the balcony.
  10. Nashville is one I am counting as we already know of. Just waiting on the full reveal for some strange reason...
  11. Here is a little hint thats been mentioned before......Brandiose is not doing South Bend. I'm looking forward to seeing what Brandiose comes up with. Thursday will have South Bend Cubs, Daytona Cubs, and the Lake Elsinore Storm revealings. South Bend: Cute anthropomorphic shamrock swinging bat. Daytona: Cute anthropomorphic race car swinging bat. Ha. Better not be a race car swinging a bat. I could handle the shamrock. Daytona is a Studio Simon rebrand. I'm not expecting a race car, but I could be wrong. There is another rebrand coming at the end of the week from Brandiose and its not Lake Elsinore.... So far we are waiting on possibly 6 more rebrands (South Bend, Daytona, OKC, ______, ______ &_______).
