Didn't know where to put this and didn't want to start a new thread (maybe we can repurpose this 2015-16 AHL changes?), but Winnipeg is picking up its AHL stakes in St. John's and moving them to MTS Centre (return of the Moose, perhaps?!?!) a la what the Sharks are doing temporarily. This triggers Montreal moving its AHL team from Hamilton to St. John's leaving Hamilton without a team at the level (they've been rumored to be getting an OHL team for some time now. So more changes on the horizon for the AHL in addition to the California teams.

First year of those Bills uniforms, last year of those Lions uniforms
They played each other twice that year, too. Because they always face each other in the peseason, likely the last week, and likely at Ford Field (one of the first few games there it would've been, as well).

Would love to see pics (if they exist) of the San Jose Sharks against the 1994 U.S. Olympic Hockey team from their exhibition game in San Jose on Jan 8 1994.

New Vermont Lake Monsters logo ... no word on hats or uniforms.
Tell me they didn't pay money for that!

The banners at the NHL Draft were replaced by boards that illuminate the logo of the team that is on the clock. Also, the teams are sorted by their (new) divisions instead of just by conference.

What about the Rams' (virtually) current drab uniforms vs. the Bills' 2000s monstrosities, circa 2001-02?
Looks like only that one game.
These pictures are from 2008. Teams also met in 2004 at the Ralph.
This actually would come up for the Bills in those uniforms vs. any NFC team. They only met each NFC twice (1 home, 1 away) in those under the NFL's scheduling structure. Maybe a handful thrice, if you count preseason.

Retiring #99 league-wide was pointless. No one will ever be stupid enough to try and wear it, so why bother with the formalities?
Some players (i.e. Crosby, RNH) wear numbers for their birth year. So in about 6-7 years, you may see a player that would've wanted to wear 99.

I am wondering the same thing. Did anything carryover from when they were in San Diego?
Ahem, or Buffalo...?

The Sabres continue to bastardize the Bandits existence in HSBC Arena by FINALLY having a banner for the retired #43 on a microscopic, unironed bed sheet. Sorry, no picture. Didn't have a strong enough lens.

It makes me sick to think what they're going to do when they hang Sakic's 19 from the rafters at the Pepsi Center in the next couple of years.
They obviously can't use the simulated mountain peaks with silver and blue lining. Maybe they'll be all white with blue piping up the middle
Why not?

OK, so the Falcons banners' are for:
1980 NFC West Champs
1998 NFC West Champs
1998 NFC Champs
2004 NFC South Champs
and then the Ring of Honor, for:
#60 Tommy Nobis
#57 Jeff Van Note
#10 Steve Bartkowski
#31 William Andrews
#58 Jessie Tuggle
OT: The Georgia Dome looks much, much better with the new seats!

I'm not a fan of the Canucks changing all their past banners to meet the current identity...
I totally agree here...was there a lot of outrage in vancouver over this?
This past season, the sabres actually replaced their 1997-98 northeast division champion banner and their 1998-99 eastern conference banner, but they redid them in the black and red colors from that era.
it really made a lot of sense to fix this - - the other 2 banners did not match the style of the old one, they were both white, and it looked flat out dumb.
I'll try to find some pics..
The one was worded awfully too. EDIT: I see you mentioned that in another post.
Now the need to take the time to fix the Bandits banners.
My problems with the current Bandits banners are as follows:
1) Their size. I have bed sheets that are bigger then those! They're are the most prestigious banners hanging there too, aside from retired Sabres.
2) The logos. The incorrect logo is on the first two.
3) The wording. Year + World Champions I don't like. Year + MILL Champions for the three that are up.
4) There are a couple missing... 1993 & 1994 National Division Champions, 2006 East Division Champions, and 43 Darris Kilgour 1992-1999 (I know, I know, it's on the turf... the number anyway).
They don't have to be in the same style as the Sabres, but upgrades, and the inclusion of all of them will be fine. Of course, winning the Championship in a couple of weeks would be a nice event to prompt my changes.

I thought all Tampa and St. Petersburg area, especially the newspapers, referred to the Devil Rays as the Rays.
As for the stadium, it's awesome! I love how it's shaped like a stingray judging by the potential overhead view!!
