  1. The France vs Argentina game about to kickoff might just be the best attired sporting contest of all time, and I'm not exaggerating one iota. Amazingly beautiful kits on both sides. https://www.gettyimages.com.au/photos/france-argentina-rugby?events=775390719&family=editorial&phrase=france argentina rugby&sort=best#license
  2. Liking the Macron jerseys, in particular the Italy away kit. Only complaint with it is that it looks designed to slap a sponsor's logo on as soon as the tournament ends. Also high marks to France and Argentina. I kinda get what Japan was going for but it doesn't work for me. For a company that is the iconic supplier of rugby kits, Canterbury really seem to be a bit off with their designs.
  3. That Cincinnati crest looks like it should be on a sign outside a gas station. (This is not a criticism, just looks like a 1950s-ish era logo you'd see on old memorabilia)
  4. There's something ever so subtly nauseating about the sleeves of the Man City kit. Hard to explain but the difference in shadings between pattern and sleeve needed to be either more subtle or more pronounced, its kind of stuck halfway in the middle and doesn't work.
  5. To me the double stripe is more of a Lyon thing (red/blue on white) and it looks weird on PSG.
  6. PSG is a team which could have such an iconic look, but does everything possible to sabotage that by never using it anymore.
  7. Love that blue alternative kit. Such an underused colour combination outside of the various British leagues.
  8. Late to the party on LAFC with an unpopular opinion... the basic black with metallic gold trims is a little boring and monotone, so the coloured sponsor logo actually lifts the kit as a whole.
  9. Colorado probably wore the yellow kit to avoid the white shorts/(partly) powder blue socks clash. Clashes aren't only about the shirt.
  10. I like the Asheville City badge. Maybe it needs a third colour in there to make it pop a little, but its well executed.

    2016 Olympics

It helps that Justin Gatlin's clouded past makes him the villain in the story.
  12. There's a difference between rugby and the sport the Melbourne Storm play (rugby league) so the logo needs a tweak.
  13. My alma mater, University of Queensland in Brisbane has a number of James Birrell designed brutalist style buildings; my accommodations at Union College perhaps being the best of them. Built from the late 1960s through the 70s it snakes through the existing trees from the site to prevent clearing. The original caravan style windows pictured above have now been replaced by more modern styles but the building remains otherwise the same. Some might find the concrete construction a little hard on the eyes, but when you see it amongst the very green landscape it's almost like a scene from some post-apocalyptic film where the forest has taken back over the city ruins.
  14. I'm coming around on the Nike kits. IF you have to do monochrome shirt/shorts the contrast socks give a nice bit of colour. But the sleeves are still stupid.
  15. Hard to maintain that throwback aesthetic and cram the usual 2-3 sponsors on to every piece of kit.
  16. Only gripe is that the heraldic lion is hard to pull off without looking like so many other logos around the world. How well it stands out will depend on how the colours are used.
  17. Looks a bit like Sampdoria's kits went for a lie down.
  18. Not that similar but the grey/fluoro gives flashbacks to this kit:
  19. Looks like something you'd see handed out to volunteers at a 1980s World Expo.
  20. Brisbane Roar unveiled their kits this week. Orange home kit is back to black shorts this season thankfully. White is the league away, grey is the cup away kit (which won't get a run as they were knocked out last night...). Strangely enough the home shirt is the same as the "one-off" kit worn vs Liverpool apart from the sponsor... I like the keeper kits, probably popping up everywhere this season in Umbro clubs?
  21. It might be red/white stripes but it just doesn't look like Sunderland... too much white.
  22. They might be aesthetically better, but it’s about the equivalent of giving Liverpool a hooped home shirt or white shorts. That thick red stripe with the white outline is PSG’s identity, as much as vertical stripes is for Barça, red shirts with white sleeves is for Arsenal, or all-red is for Liverpool. Actually Liverpools kit up to 1965 was to have white shorts with red and white striped socks. It was only when Bill Shankly took over they went all red. To say all red for Liverpool is factually incorrect. So you’re telling me Liverpool supporters would be pleased if the club came out with a kit including white shorts next season? If it was marketed as a throwback kit just like Arsenal did as the Redcurrant kit without the white sleeves then I doubt too much if it would cause controversy. Some (a minority of) fans complained when they moved the flames of remembrance from next to the badge to their own prominent spot on the back of the kit. It was bad enough that the adidas kits had "too much white on them" if you listen to some fans. There'd be riots if next season's kit had white shorts.
  23. One minor quibble on the SPFC kits, it used to be nice when the logo lined up with the red/white/black stripes on the kit, like it did on one of their old away kits.
  24. Oh Kuwait, its like 1991 all over again (though thankfully not really for them) Trying to find the Omani kits with black writing on a red nameplate on a white shirt. It has to be seen to be believed.
