  1. Can anyone honestly say that there is a better canidate than Notre Dame. I know they want to keep their independent status but if I was the Big Ten I would do everything I could to bring them on board.

Do they want to keep their Independent status? Or do they want to keep every cent of that lucrative NBC contract? I think it's the latter.

Once again, each Big 10 team makes more from the BTN and ABC deals than ND makes from NBC.

    1) Will each Big Tenleven still make more from the BTN and ABC if it expanded to 12 teams?

    2) Can you give us some figures to back that up? We're a cynical lot 'round here and generally need numbers to verify these types of claims. :P

  2. Pat Burrell. The only thing he's legendary at is striking out and banging every cougar in the Deleware Valley. I've heard some very interesting stories from a girl I met that used to hook up with him.

If you're in your thirties when you bang 'em, are they still cougars anymore?

Not that I won't stop trying, mind you...

I was with Buc in renaming the thread, but after I saw this? F*** it. Just shut the whole damn thing down. The is the "Legends in the wrong uniforms" thread...and this motherf***er posts Mark "I didn't know he was still in NBA" Madsen.

This s*** didn't just jump the shark, it jumped all the sharks...San Jose Sharks, Iron Chef Shark, Jets and Sharks, the Jersey Shore Shark attacks of 1916, and even those 3 mechanical sharks from the "Jaws" flicks.

  4. Its not a font but i have this if it helps you.

I'm still looking for a phillies jersey script font if anyone can help

Do you (or anyone else) have a vector version of this? If so...

    WANT!

Yes, I know it's a standard block font with all kinds of serifs/spurs added, but I don't want to do it myself! :P

  5. Brett Hull

Zach Parise (Legend in the making?)

    USA-Parise12.jpg

If you dont understand, Ill explain.

You don't have to explain anything. They're in the right jerseys.

Parise was born and raised in Minnesota, so even though his Dad is Canadian and Zach could have played for the Canadians, Zach is American through and through.

Yeah, Hull was born in Canada, and spent a lot of time there, but he also lived in Chicago with his Dad, where all his other siblings were born. So, while he had dual citizenship, more than that, in '86 Team USA was the one who showed interest in him playing for them, not Canada. Hull decided to stick with that loyalty throughout his career.

I admire both of their decisions.

To us Canadians, both of them are traitors.

So you expect a kid who was BORN AND RAISED in Minnesota (which is in the U.S.) to play for Team Canada? Also, as Timaa said, Canada had no interest in Hull in '86, so it would seem they screwed him over before he "screwed" Canada over.

Hull also played for the University of Minnesota-Duluth, is enshrined in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, and is considered one of the greatest AMERICAN hockey players of all time. He's only considered Canadian because he was born in the summer, when the family vacationed in Ontario. The United States, being a very diverse country, have MLB and NBA players who hold American citizenship, even some BORN in America, play for other countries in the Olympics, World Championships, and what have you. They're not considered traitors by any stretch of the imagination.

You were around for the Giuseppe Rossi flap a few weeks ago, right? He certainly was considered a traitor...and probably still is to a lot of soccer nuts.

  6. Does anyone know what the Mets script font is? Or a similar one?

Yes, it is custom, but if you're good at tracing (or know someone that is) these are pretty close to the Mets home and road scripts:
