  1. Really nice work! I don't know how I missed this thread!
  2. Out of all of the logos I've seen in this thread, the Ducks logo impressed me the most. I've never liked any of the Ducks logos and I love seeing designers come up with better concept logos and unis. Nice work.
  3. Fantastic work. Each version is perfect.
  4. I really like the Seals primary. But I do agree with an earlier poster who pointed out the perspective of the nose is off. I like the color scheme but I think the dark jersey should be black to help that logo pop.
  5. I don't think tutorials would really help with logo design. Either you can illustrate or you can't, not something you can teach quickly... So you think a video tutorial by someone as skilled as Fraser wouldn't help an aspiring illustrator/sports logo desinger become more technically sound? I disagree completely. same here. no, its not something that happens quickly, but no one is born with elite skills. its something that is developed over time with practice and study Well of course it comes with practice and study. And of course no one is born with elite skills. Call me crazy, but if I had the choice between watching a video tutorial of an elite sports logo designer and NOT watching ... I'd watch. Because I'd LEARN something. That's why Fraser's tutorial posts are popular here. They help those who want insight on how a master does things. Any kind of advice, training, tutorial will help an aspiring designer. It's like a mini art class. Should aspiring artists not go to art school?

  7. I love throwbacks if they're done right. I also love modern style if done right. It's all a matter of "done right". Some teams nail it, others don't.

    IceHL Logo

The typeface doesn't really look "sporty" to me. And there seems to be some visual tension with the orange on top of the light blue.
  9. Two words, Fraser: VIDEO TUTORIALS!! Very nice work as always.
  10. The progression of Islanders' Blue: oooh, nice. any chance you have the pantone breakdown for each of those islanders blues?
  11. Fantastic concept! My only critique is that there are so many teams that have a bear that looks like this. But you made it your own with the blizzard effect in the primary. Nice job.
  12. At least they had the courtesy not to show any balls.
  13. #2 gets my vote. Conveniently numbered by the way.
  14. I sort of agree. It is unfair. Still, I understand why they're doing it. Ovechkin and Crosby are the league's top two stars, so I can see why the NHL would want them playing each other the one time casual American sports fans pay attention to the NHL. Who cares about fair? The NHL certainly should not. The WC is a major promotion of the NHL and the last thing anyone wants to see is Atlanta VS Calgary. The WC should be reserved for the top 5-10 teams in the span of 1-3 years. I want to see a great game, great rivalry, and marquee players. Of course, this is just MY opinion.
