  1. Can we just make a yearly Oregon unis thread,  I'm so over year to year seeing them popup hundreds of times per page with there trash. We know we get it you have 182739839293838 combos take it elsewhere.  More than half the college football world can care less about you. I actually stopped following this thread as much as I used to just because I'm so over seeing this Oregon trash.

  2. Arkansas fans better watch out and learn a lesson from Pitt... Nike will give you perfect throwback unis and say next year will be a full change,  and even though I like Pitts new uniforms, and colors are an upgrade over last year's primary  uniforms,  they are a downgrade to the throwbacks we had the fans loved so much. So you may get a cleaner look, but nike will do something to mess it up.

  3. The STATE unfiroms aren't bad if they made the pants dark green, with volt neon and then everything on the helmet and jersey that are white volt neon. Bit having mostly dark green ontop,  with neon pants with what looks like a white stripe on them is garbage. Too many light colors trying to mix in is always a bad idea .

  4. Wearing just the jersey alone without the helmet nothing screams Pitt to me. As a fan who wears Pitt apparel all the time. I will wear this jersey and without Pitt on the collar a lot people will have no idea what school I am wearing,  big miss taking Script Pitt off the collar. The secondary head should been put above the nameplate on the back if used and should kept white numbers on the home jersey and kept the grey face masks. I'm sure they will grow on me as the seaon goes on but that first home opener in going to be a little off.

New Pitt Secondary logo has been leaked early,  and the fans are not liking it. Me as a fan , satisfied simple.. logoish  not much can do anymore with a Panther or any catlike animal logo that wouldn't be an almost copy if someone else's. We tried that in 1997 and fans hated it. We tried simple , fans hate it. Pitt fan base,  as a die hard Pitt  fan I say, are bunch if yinzer babies.

This is the year Pitt goes throwback full time, right?

It's speculated yes. It's almost a given, I follow the team closely and no official word as of yet. However all the new signage and logos placed among the new facility upgrades are with the "Pittsburgh Gold" and a more royal shade of blue, not as light as the throwback jerseys they have now but not dark navy.

Official statement should come after basketball season as that's when they will be redoing the floor in the Arena. My guess is they are holding off just due to basketball being a top sport they want to try to still sell as much navy and gold to the fans who don't follow closely.

Which was followed by this teaser...

Didn’t show the numbers, so I wonder if they go with green numbers as a nod to the 1992 Sugar Bowl.

In this video the pants seem to have a little shine to the , more than normal. I'm not an Irish fan by any means being a Pitt fan, but years past both teams suffered with the loss of the Gold Dazzle shine pants imo. I understand the new fabric story for pants and all, but looks to me there is some glisten to the pants here, may be wrong,  usually am. Haha

Yeah, I have the same feeling. I’m thinking they may end up mixing and matching the yellow helmets and pants with both the green and white jerseys, though (or at least that’s my hope). And I feel like the chrome and black helmets will be used with all four jerseys at some point. The black pants can really only be used with the black and white jerseys because the bright green would clash with the yellow and green jerseys. The green helmets and pants seem like they really only go with the green jerseys, so those likely won’t be mixed and matched with any of the other pieces.

You know all to well they will wear a black helmet green jersey black pant combo of these at some point. Oregon past few years imo has been a dumpster fire when coming to matching. They could have the perfect uniforms but kill it with some sort of odd matching combo.

  9. Helmet- I hate the wings always have. The O on the side is tradition and great.

Jersey- I like the Plaines of them clean as far as wings and extra designs go. But numbers ruin it. The number font is fine, make it smaller, take out the odd line in the middle and change the black or grey numbers from the yellow jersey to green and I would love these, also keep the name played classic and mono to the jersey colors.

Also don't mind them doing black and I know even since like 2003 or so they had black in jerseys. But I don't like the black mixed in with the yellow and or green sets.  The green and yellow sets would be great of they were mirrors of eachother with no black in any and the other changes as mentioned above.

IMO, Oregon's home uniforms look best when they go with predominantly Green/White (yellow accents) or Black/Yellow (Green or White accents).  They also need to go back to something like the LaMichael James era.  The shoulder wings still looked like, you know... wings.  Not some metal robot knives.

Toss in a throwback and you've got all that you need for the home uniforms.

I want to know what is wrong with me. Why do I have a thing for these old shoulder sleeves with logos in or ontop of them? Such a old school odd look, but the Donald duck through the O in the yellow stripes, and even the old school Pitt  jerseys with the Script Pitt in them, and even though I get back lash from everyone in the panther boards. I love the look. I like anything old school college football. I even miss some the more old school cartoonish logos, just makes it more college atmosphere for me.

    Matte Gold for Purdue

Ugh,  I do wish Pitt would do this while they have the gold and navy. I remeber Akron wearing these, now that gold fabric on pants are matte and plain without the dazzle sparkles I love these helmets with teams with gold pants.

How do people play on black turf on a hot, sunny day?  Do people who get tackled burn themselves?  Or does this only work in the PNW where it's never sunny?

I was thinking the same thing, but idk how much impact the color or the actual grass has for the heat, it's more all the rubber that's laid down that is where there heat comes from I remeber my senior in hs we got turf and of course back when turf in high school was rare and just sitting there during stretching and sticking your fingers in to see how far in they go and remeber during 3 a days you could dig a hole in the new rubber because it wasn't packed down and you can feel the heat raise out the turf at that spot more so.

This reminds me of that one time NC State played a home game where it looked like the grass died.

Worst about it talk about bfbs. Thier main colors for years where Green and gold had a nice look. Now I haven't attended a game thier, I coached in thier once before the change, but I'm pretty sure the endzones and field numbers are black bot dark green. And they incorporated black into thier jerseys as well. They would fit nicely into today's college football.

  14. I'm a sticker myself for the socks shoe debate. Miami above everything but the bottom looks good. Penn State alot times now wears least white compression pants and no black socks so I can deal with a team wearing black shoes.  But for Texas considering both your main colors are light and your pants a solid white... idk. I love Texas on the road in the all white head to toe with the burnt orange. Was just beautiful.
