  1. After letting it all sink in and seeing the full uniform and logos together, I really like this new branding. I dont mind the lack of gold/yellow. I still wish we had that color, but over all I am ok with it being gone. I am giving this a 8.5 out of 10. I can not wait to see both of my Stars on the Ice next season (Dallas/Texas). Its like I get the best of both worlds with those teams, uniform wise.
  2. Jerseys aside, I'm not sure how you can look at a new stable ownership / GM hailing from one of the most successful hockey franchises in the last 20 years and not get a little bit excited. The team has good young talent waiting to develop, and with a GM with proven hockey smarts, well, I don't know if now is the best time to jump ship. Yes, it's been tough the last 5 years, but I do believe the the team is about to turn the corner. That and the logo is already growing on me, so it might grow on you too. If the Stars start winning again in these, well, even better. Dont get me wrong, I am not jumping ship. I am excited about certain aspects of future. I just think I got my hopes up too high about the logo and I was disappointed, just like I do with the team. I guess I really shouldn't pass any judgment until I see the whole uniform package. but as it stands, the logo is just meh. In fairness, do you really think people would like the "classic" Stars logo (in your sig) if it was released today? I can imagine cries of "boring," "flat," "tasteless..." (and i'm someone who basically shares your taste). Just sayin'. I understand that, But to be honest, How many logos that are considered "classic",if revealed today, would be met with such love and admiration. To me,IMO, as fans we grow attached to logo's and the colors of our teams (some more than others), so when change comes, it is very hard to accept. Some can take the changes for what they are, Changes and nothing more and move on. Others take it as an act of betrayal. In the end, the logo has not grown on me (yet) and I am still excited about the actually reveal. I respect your opinion on the matter along with others on this board.
  3. Thank you, Every time someone mentions lone starS on here I want to put that clip up. That right there should put an end to that stupid name.

  5. I am really hoping this grows on me. This was very disappointing. Especially after the Texas Stars released there new uniforms yesterday, which are so nice. The thing that gets me is not that there is no yellow/gold, it's that they are so boring. I thought theses were suppose to be a classic look? Nothing about these yells old school hockey or classic. Their previous logo was a classic. As a fan of the stars for the last 15+ yrs, I don't know if/how much I can get behind these. This team has been slowly losing me and not sure how much I can hold on anymore.
  6. Well for one, That sort of rainbow loses all the connections to the LGBT community and loses the "wussy/girly" connection. I am not saying do that, I am just saying would it be bad if they did? I personally have no problem with a normal rainbow, but if everyone (and I am speaking in generalities) is going to make those connections, why not try and skew their perception a little? Just a thought....
  7. Just out of curiosity, would it be a bad idea if they (UH) went with a design that is not a "traditionally" Rainbow? Similar to what they do in cycling? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_jersey I mean not that exact design just something like it or is that just a terrible Idea? I mean to be honest with you, I know next to nothing about Hawaii so I am not sure if that would be screwing with Hawaiian customs/tradition.
  8. Like others have said, I dont mind a patch but the using the parent teams branding is just flat out boring and lazy. I mean do we really need two hockey teams named the Stars (Dallas/Texas). I guess I am still bitter about my Ice Bats leaving town/folding
  9. That is one of the many reason I canceled my cable last year.
  10. The best part is that they were only 99 cents each. I like to wear the Expos helmet while watching the Nats play.... weird, yes...fun, yes.
  11. Found a bunch of these "Childrens" helmets at Goodwill a few weeks back. Missing about 8 teams but this one was on of the coolest (other than the Expos,Mariners and Padres).
  12. New alt. For the Nationals The team will wear it tomorrow vs. the Yankees and for all home games with red jerseys this year. Not sure if this was posted before. Did a search and did not see it. My bad if it has been posted already. You beat me to it. stupid slow computer.
  13. Honestly, I wouldn't knock it until I saw it. If it works, it works. Although, UT has such a massive over-presence here, I'm not sure I want burnt orange to spill over on to things non-Longhorn related. I am not a fan of the burnt orange idea. Like you said, it does have a massive over presence down here. Toying with the longhorn image (the animal, not the school) isnt a bad idea though. Also, I hate it when things are called Austin when they aren't Austin. Either keep it as TEXAS or change it to Ceder Park, but for the love of god, please don't change it to Austin. When they first came to town I was kinda disappointed in the name. I was hoping for something with a more local flavor. Something like what the Ice Bats did. but the name has grown on me and don't really want it to change. I really hope the Dallas Stars show us something soon. The suspense is killing me.

    Train theme

This was the begining of my concept before I got stumped/didnt like the direction I was going in. I stopped in the middle so nothing is complete or done ie. font, colors (EZ stands for Easy street) I was going for something along the lines of whats on the front of Union Pacific trains
