  1. I really liked the Broncos old style of uniforms. I can see how they felt outdated to some though. Nike usually adds at least one thing that ruins the entire uniforms, Jags helmet, Bucs alarm clock numbers for examples. The 5280 and the triangles, especially on the helmet ruin this look in my opinion. The jerseys are solid though.

The leaked Texans primary is interesting as I can't see anyone being happy with it. Not in a condescending way or that it's so horrid, but there have been so many different routes people have wanted the Texans to go, and this won't satisfy anyone.

More red to stand out from the rest of the division? No, even less of it.

Lighter blue to lean into Oilers sentiment? Not either.

    More modern and unique? Barely.

Did you think the current was fine (honestly valid take)? Well now it's gone.

Unless you think the new number font is great or think that redundant sleeve logos is the best thing to exist, then it's just a step back in every way. I don't think it's terrible, but it's got nothing going for it other than "could maybe be worse?"

Agree with all of this. Their current uniforms are solid and have been around since day one. They should have just added the "H Town" alternates (not that those look good) and left the other 3 uniforms alone.

I think the perfect Jacksonville Jaguars uniform would be a mash-up of all 4 of their historic uniforms:

    '95 Pant
    '97 Jerseys
'09 Black helmet with Teal metallic fleck

    '13 Logo

'13 Number outline color scheme on White jersey, '95-'08 color scheme for numbers on Teal jerseys

    '18 Number font

This is a little mockup I made awhile back. Their current jersey design is pretty solid and looks good and works well with the modern jersey templates. It just needs more color. I absolutely love their late 90s uniforms, but I would keep them as throwbacks. The crawling jaguar and double sleeve stripes along with tv numbers is going to be hard to fit on today's sleeves.

Since the opponents are known, they can generally plan what uniforms to wear against which teams

They just sent that tweet so they could get the hundreds of "Bring back the throwbacks!" replies that they used in the teaser video.

Did these fans say which uniform(s) the Jaguars will use? I'm guessing the originals because they're celebrating 30 years.

On a side note, this is a great focus group trick for new uniforms. Using throwbacks instead of the back-room research is a great idea for testing. The only problem is you only have past uniforms for testing. Although, you could test throwbacks in current colors.

Crawling jaguar logo. Not sure which year they would base it off of though. Hopefully the 97-08 font like the font used in the 30th anniversary logos in this thread. The team sent an email awhile back with a poll of which uniforms did fans like the best. The 95-08s won by a lot. I think 13-17 was 2nd, followed by present day, and 09-12 was last. The majority of fans that I interact with want the original uniforms with the crawling jaguar on the sleeve back with the current logo. I personally think they should just use the throwbacks once or twice a year, and tweak their current uniforms to add gold and black to the home and teal and gold to the road/white.

Isn't there a rule against teams wearing alternate jerseys in the preseason? Or is that just for the playoffs? Panthers in the blue jerseys, which is their best look, is cool but seems like something the No Fun League wouldn't want to happen. Am I crazy?

I don't think there is a rule during preseason. Back when the Jaguars wore black as primary, they wore the teal jerseys twice in the preseason.

Not going the hog/pig route with the new name was a bonehead move by the Snyder administration. That's the only way they should have went after the old name was retired. Redtails, Redwolves or any other name should not have even been entertained. The club had a secondary identity in Hogs for decades that could have easily been adopted but nope, Snyder's gonna snyde. Then they thought a military worship theme would win over the diehards that didn't want the name to change, but it didn't. To add insult to incompetence they trotted out the lamest possible hog mascot in Major Tuddy.

They could have at least attempted to make Tuddy look tough. He looks like a concept design of Hamton J. Pig from Tiny Toons in a Gibbs era uniform for crying out loud.

    Major Tuddy is 🔥

  8. The Jags didn't officially leak until the morning of the reveal from the airport graphic. A few locals and friends of friends had the Nike concept sheets that were sent to the team a few months before though. I had the concepts two and a half months before the unveiling. The black jerseys were originally supposed to have teal numbers and they played around with 4 different fonts and different stripes on cuffs and the pants. We didn't know for sure that those concepts would be what they went with though.

  9. Most fans want the 95-2008 uniforms with the updated logo, but I'd go this route with the Jaguars uniforms. I'd be cool with the 2013 font like I have on the teal, or the current font like on the away and alt. Both fonts are solid.spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

The Jags can solve their *lack of teal* problems simply by sticking with teal pants home and away, especially with their current sets. They do that and we'll be guaranteed a lot more teal on the field. (Plus, as long as they stick with single-color numbers & this current set, I personally think it's their best primary pairing.)

    Observe:

They keep it to this and, while not ideal, I could live with the teal jersey as an alternate--and I'd be fine with never seeing the white pants again. Plus, since "Black and Teal" has been their marketing thing for almost a decade now, what better way than to emphasize them the most with the color combos they wear on the field. (Yes, I realize I'm making a ton of concessions here as a fan since their inception, but given their current state or aesthetics, if this is what they're gonna stick with, those are the best ways to present it.)

Not sure its possible to be more correct about their current uniforms than you are in this post.

Wouldn't be the first time an owner/someone in organizational leadership attempted to bury the main color Jacksonville is known for. Recall the switch that occurred around the '03 timeframe when the base color of the white jersey's numbers changed from teal to black. I think either that season or the one following--at any rate, by '05--they then adopted the solid black pants with the jaguar head hip logo in place of the striped black pants, at which point they became full-on Blaguars. Now my memory is a bit wonky, but I believe Wayne Weaver was the main one trying to deemphasize the teal then. Whatever the case, they've been skimping on the teal with their away looks ever since then.

I don't want to post the '09-'13 uniforms because quite frankly they never should've existed and I don't wanna be reminded of that look, but the primary away look was virtually what it is now: pretty much straight up black and white.

I don't know what that franchise braintrust's issue is with the signature teal, but it's beyond annoying that they keep doing all they can do to deemphasize it.

Word on the street is Shad’s wife hates teal. Shad bought the team late in the 2011 season. He switched the main jersey color to black the following 2012 season. That uniform design was only worn for 4 seasons (09-12). They redesigned the uniforms for the 2013 season. From 2012-2020 the home uniform jersey color was black. From Shad’s first full season (2012) until the redesign in 2018 they wore teal 4 out of 96 games. From 2012-2020 they only wore teal jerseys for 13 out of 144 regular season games. This past season they brought back teal as the primary color.
I loved the original uniforms. Hated the 09-12 uniforms. Liked everything about the 13-17 set besides the helmets that ruined everything. Like the current teal and black sets, hate the white because there is no teal. I think they should keep the current design but add the same number outline color scheme they used in the original uniforms and add some gold stripes next to the black stripes and call it a day. They also need to figure out some type of stripes for the pants. The fans really want them to just go back to one of the original uniforms during the custom font years of the late 90s and and updated crawling jaguar sleeve logo, but I don’t think the crawling jaguar would look great on the modern jersey cuts.
