  1. Sure, here we go: Atlanta Falcons The rumor: return of the throwback, new uniforms for the new stadium This one may be a bit of a stretch as I wasn't able to find a lot on the Falcons when it comes to uniform rumors. But before unveiling their current alt they teased the return of a throwback, and I also seem to remember that they might update their uniforms alongside the new stadium, so let's combine those two. This is a bit of an update to an old concept I made a while ago that's sort of a modern update on their red helmeted throwbacks. Red helmet returns, with a black primary jersey. Gold also returns as an accent color. The alt is still a throwback and the color rush is red. Alts: I have another team done as well: Carolina Panthers The rumor: New owner, new uniforms? I believe owner Jerry Richardson said that as long as he owned the team, the uniforms would never change. But now that he plans to sell the team it seems almost inevitable that they will. Reading through the wonderful Jaguars rumor thread I feel like the recent mockups that have been popping up would be a decent look for the Panthers, with a few tweaks. I know black helmets/tapered pointy stripes for the Panthers is a bit of a cliche at this point but I think it fits the theme of this concept series pretty well. Black helmet/uniforms with Carolina blue accents, silver only remains in the logo and as an outline on the numbers. Carolina blue alt, blue pants are an option with all three jerseys now, and the color rush is silver: Alts:
  2. Y'know it's funny, I actually had three different versions and wasn't sure which one to go with, but looking at them together it does sort of look like a faux-alternate history:
  3. Alright, next team up is: Green Bay Packers The rumor: The 1994 uniform update I guess this one is less ridiculous internet rumor and more of scrapped redesign. So apparently in 1993 then-GM Ron Wolf proposed a uniform update for the Packers that would have replaced their current yellow gold with a darker, metallic shade. According to this these new unis would have had no stripes anywhere, logos on the sleeves, and gold outlines on the numbers. I mocked it up without stripes and wasn't crazy about it, so this is what I ended up with. Added white pants as an alt, kept the navy throwback, and added a green color rush Alts:
  4. Hey there's an idea, maybe for some crazy alt Just a small update tweaking the Dolphins and Titans slightly (added the alts in spoilers to reduce clutter):
  5. So, the other night while figuring out who to do next I had an idea to make this Dolphins concept even more 'Miami'. Let's keep orange in the palette as a logo-only color and do something like this with the sun: Thoughts?
  6. Yeah those are tough to read, though when I first starting making these I tried adhering to the rumors as closely as possible, which stated silver numbers/blue stroke (it also said red numbers/blue stroke for the silver alt but it looked even worse). I'll be updating the Titans later. I agree, for some reason the jaguar spots always look off to me. I thought about adding them to this concept but decided to keep it pretty tame, since word on the street the new unis will be more conservative. Alright, two more teams! Dallas Cowboys The rumor: C H R O M E I remember this image was floating around for a bit: and many thought these were the new Cowboy duds, so I used elements from this for mine. Chrome helmet, sublimated stars on the sleeves, silver strokes on the numbers. Like the Broncos I used colors from the past that are sort of an in between to the two shades of silver and blue they currently use (silver is more of a silver/blue, and the blue is a dark royal, not quite navy). Although in a bit of irony because the helmet is chrome it still doesn't really match. Silver alt and the color rush stays the same. Had a hell of a time getting the chrome effect to look right so I finally broke down and downloaded a free layer style from giallo86 on deviantart. Link Las Vegas Raiders The rumor: Gold accents Some rumor popped up stating the Raiders will be adding gold outlines to the numbers and logo as well as the helmet/pant stripes. They used gold way back in the day so why not? I tried using Vegas gold (cause ya know, Las Vegas Raiders and all) but it didn't look very good so I tried something a little brighter, closer to those Colorado throwbacks. In addition to the gold, added a wordmark on the chest to differentiate this set from the ones worn in Oakland. Gold alt jersey added. Color rush is still the whiteout with all the gold removed, and added black to the pant stripe to match the rest Alright, who's next?
  7. Agreed, it looks much better than I thought it would. Thank you! I would also agree that the Titans are my least favorite. Teal pants do look pretty good! Haha, well that's a relief! I noticed you neglected to deny the addition of pink though, hmm... Brb, gonna post on Reddit real quick. Totally agreed on the Browns, too. Oh yeah I remember that now! Cowboys will be next. You know I had the opposite reaction, I tried it without black and it just felt a little too blank. I don't think your redesigned logo needs black or any third color imo, and I'm really digging that whole thread! Thanks for all the kind words! Dallas as well as another team are up next, in the meantime I tweaked the kerning on the Browns and Dolphins, which have also been updated in the original post (the Titans will need this too but I'm going to take another stab at them first).
  8. Here's a few more: Jacksonville Jaguars The rumor: Gold helmet/pants, teal primary I don't see something like this happening but I actually kinda like the way it looks. Kept the current logo/number font. Chrome gold helmet/facemask, black is relegated to a trim color. Jersey is a little more 'traditional' looking and the pants feature a full pant stripe that tapers off just a bit at the bottom for a little modern flair. Black jersey becomes the alt with teal for the color rush Miami Dolphins The rumor: Adding black I took a few liberties with this one. I remember back before their current look was announced there was some rumor that the Dolphins were adding black to their palette because the stripes on a zoomed in, pixelated picture of the new helmet looked kind of black. Aqua, black, and orange is a little too close to what Jacksonville wears but luckily I drew some inspiration from mcrosby's logo redesign - what if orange was also replaced with pink? Brightened up the aqua and recolored the logo to match new palette. Helmet/pant striping remains about the same with pink being more present than black. New number font with a black drop shadow, the throwback remains the same and pink of course becomes the color rush. Tennessee Titans The rumor: Red primary, silver alt, new logos, 'battle-scarred' helmet. I'm pretty sure a lot of this one was debunked by a recent video released by the team but it's still interesting to think about. Can't think of a team that's totally overhauled their colors like that since the Bucs. Recolored sword becomes the primary logo. Textured silver helmet, red primary jersey with a silver alt. Silver, white, and red pants with a Columbia blue color rush. Sublimated greek pattern on the sleeves. These are all I had planned on doing, but they were actually pretty fun, would love to do one for each team. Are there any other absurd rumors you've heard about a team that wound up being false? Post them here and I'll try to bring them to life!
  9. It seems like every year as details trickle out that teams are getting new uniforms, some random 'source' pops up claiming to have seen the uniform in question and provides an over the top description that sends this board into a frenzy. Maybe it's not a good idea to enable these rumors with mock ups but I thought it would be fun to take these crazy ideas and make concepts out of them. Cleveland Browns The rumor: White helmets, 'total overhaul' Added numbers to the helmet, reversed the number/shadow colors on the home and away. Took the notched stripe design from their current look and kept it floating within the sleeve a la OK State/extended it further down the pant leg so that it's almost a full stripe again. White striped socks for all, orange alt, and white fauxback for the Color Rush. Denver Broncos The rumor: the Color Rush jersey becomes the primary Kept the logo and number font from the current look, brightened the colors back to their earlier shades, added white and blue jerseys/pants. Orange remains the Color Rush. Here's every Broncos concept on this board ever Denver: Thanks for checking these out, I have a few more that I'll be posting in a bit.
  10. Shamless plug time? Ok here we go:
  11. Sure! And here are the final four matchups of the season. I think that's about it for this series. Thanks for checking it out! Week 13: Minnesota vs. Dallas Week 14: Kansas City vs. Oakland Week 15: Seattle vs. St. Louis Week 16: Philadelphia vs. New York
  12. Here are a few more matchups: Week 8: Tennessee vs. Jacksonville Week 9: Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta Week 10: Baltimore vs. Cleveland Week 11: Carolina vs. New Orleans
  13. Here's a few more: San Francisco vs. Arizona San Diego vs. Denver Green Bay vs. Chicago
  14. Thanks! Yeah, they definitely went a little too modern with their new uniforms. Hopefully they'll change them eventually (although with a few tweaks I think they could be decent). Ok so now that all the teams are done, let's see some matchups. I made this template a long time ago using the tutorials found on this site. It's not perfect, but I think it gets the point across well enough. Week 2: Buffalo vs. New York Week 3: New England vs. Houston Week 4: Cincinnati vs. Miami
  15. Thanks everyone! I've had some fun with these. I've finished the six remaining teams, here we go: Baltimore Ravens: When those fake leaks came out that said the Ravens would be in a Maryland flag inspired uniform, I thought that'd be a cool look for them. However what they're wearing looks pretty good to me too. I like the heavier usage of gold, so I made a gold-heavy purple set with sublimated flag designs on the sleeve and pant stripes. The whiteout drops all the gold. Buffalo Bills: The all red look stays mostly the same, I like that they dropped navy for it. The facemask is now white with the helmet stripe added to it. Carolina Panthers: They have one of the best looks so nothing really has changed (aside from being on a new template), the whiteout is a fauxback. Now they've never changed their uniforms so this is more of a 'what if'. Kansas City Chiefs: Chiefs don't change much either, but for the mono red the stripe on the pants now matches the rest of the uniform. New York Giants: The biggest tweak to the whiteout is taking the stripe on the cuff and blowing it up on the sleeve (white facemask too). For the 'home' set Giants go mono-red with a fauxback: Seattle Seahawks: I don't know why but I love the neon green. The sleeves feature the sublimated feather pattern. The whiteout drops the green for wolf grey. And that's everyone. Thanks for checking these out. Now that they're all done, I'll post matchups at some point.
  16. Agreed! Hopefully they take their current Color Rush uni and do something permanent with it. Here's a couple more: Atlanta Falcons Added stripes to the sleeves that take after the stripes on their throwback's socks. Cleveland Browns: Basically their previous set with the new shade of orange and a white facemask:
  17. Another update and another handful of teams: Changed the Jags from gold to black. This blackout features a heavier emphasis on gold with teal accents. The whiteout remains a fauxback. Maybe a little too Saints-esque but I don't think they'll ever be matched up on a Thursday night game so it shouldn't be an issue. Dallas Cowboys The whiteout remains mostly the same, with stripes added to the socks. The color set is a royal blue fauxback. Detroit Lions The Lions go fauxback with a set that is similar to what they used to wear on Thanksgiving. Black is dropped completely for a Honolulu blue heavy look. San Diego Chargers One of my favorite looks that Nike rolled out. I really like that shade of blue so their set doesn't change much. Numbers are added to the sides of the helmets and the lightning bolts on the jerseys go over the shoulders the way they should. The whiteout is very yellow/gold heavy but I like how the numbers match the bolts. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Decided to switch it up and go full pewter. Like their current color rush uniform, it only incorporates red, pewter, and silver. All the silver accents on the uniforms are replaced with chrome to match the facemask. 8 teams to go!
  18. Thanks! It's definitely one of my favorites in this series. Makes me want to do a redesign based around that helmet.. This is MattWillcox's Nike Hypercool template, converted to PSD by Bucksfan5. The original filesize is much wider but I shrunk it down a bit, you should be able to find it somewhere in the Concepts section! I have a few more teams to show off either today or tomorrow, in the meantime here are a couple of updates: I finally decided to change the Cardinals from blue to red, because it makes more sense (and I don't want to use black), and also it balances out the number of teams that have blue or red Color rush uniforms in this series. Miami's whiteout is now what they currently wear, but with chrome logos to provide a little bit of change.
  19. Hey everyone, here are a few more: Houston Texans: Went with red for their color, with a new look that features sleeve and pant stripes that mimic the Texas flag. Indianapolis Colts: Like the Jets, the Colts brighten up their look by going with royal blue, with chromed out blue helmet decals, stripes, and facemasks. The unis take after the throwback they used to wear with the blue helmets. Minnesota Vikings Took their current color rush set but went with yellow/gold instead of purple. For the whiteout I went for a fauxback look with a white facemask. Washington Redskins Redskins go all-burgandy instead of all-gold. Jerseys are slightly different from their current look; Gold numbers and the sleeve stripe is blown up and actually visible. Chose a 60's-era fauxback featuring the feather helmet logo.
  20. Yeah that was my thought as well. Not a Texans/Titans/Oilers fan but I believe they took the Oilers' history when they moved/rebranded? The way I look at it, this way the Titans can keep their double blue look, and once a year (if that) throw back to their Oiler days. Oh damn, small world. I don't want you to think I'm trying to jack your concepts. So I ended up making quick update to mine by blowing up the sleeve stripes: I've also had a bunch of other teams done so I thought I'd dump them here: Chicago Bears: Went orange instead of navy (for most teams I'm trying to make the color rush sets a different color from their jersey for some contrast), the whiteout is a fauxback that is similar to their current aways with a block font and a navy collar: Jacksonville Jaguars: If their helmet was solid black, I would've gone teal. I think the gold jerseys look better than teal with the gradient helmet, however the gold they use doesn't look good as a main color. Luckily their current set uses two different shades of gold, and the lighter gold is closer to a dark yellow. So I used that as the main and styled the uniforms after their classic original set: Miami Dolphins: Planned on using orange until I saw how washed out they looked last week, so I went with the dark blue they use as an accent. It looks better than I thought it would. For the whiteout I got a little crazy with it. Since they already have their throwback as an alt, and they seem to want to be known as the 'whiteout' team, I came up with a new all-white look inspired by some of Oregon's whiteouts: Solid white helmet with a chrome logo and facemask, and all-white jerseys and pants with chrome inserts and 'splashes' of aqua and orange. The numbers are also white/chrome with thick outlines. It probably wouldn't go over well, but, eh, it's the Color Rush. New England Patriots: Made small changes, like matching the pant stripe width with the shoulder stripes, and replacing the logo on the sleeve with TV numbers (not a fan of redundant logos) Oakland Raiders: Went for a blackout with black numbers with thick silver outlines. The whiteout remains unchanged, I'm a big fan of the silver numbers look on the white jerseys. With those five that puts me at the halfway point, so aside from any tweaks or adjustments I'm going to take a break on these for a bit. Feedback is always appreciated, thanks for checking them out.
  21. Had a lot of free time lately so here's a few more fauxback-inspired sets: Denver Broncos: Made only a couple of minor changes to what they rolled out; widened the sleeve stripes and changed the facemask to white. Philadelphia Eagles: Dropped black from their scheme and made the charcoal gray they use as the primary. Sleeve stripes are a modern take on their old stripe heavy jerseys. Tennessee Titans: These probably wouldn't happen, but as a maybe once a year alt why not? Titans go full Oilers with a chrome red facemask.
  22. Thank you! Yeah, the blue alt for the Cards would probably be an odd choice, but I didn't want to do a blackout, and I feel like there are going to be a lot of red sets in this so I wanted to switch it up. Plus it's the blue from the state flag, so I may go back and do a set based around that. While I wait for some more feedback here's a couple more: Cincinnati Bengals The I really liked the 'snow tiger' look so the biggest fix was changing the pant stripe. The numbers also have a sublimated tiger stripe pattern on them. New York Jets: The all-kelly look remains pretty much the same with some added stripes to the socks. The whiteout is a simplified version of their road look in kelly green. Green facemask has been replaced with a white one and to match the chrome helmet stripes, the pant stripes are chrome as well. Also updated my Saints set with a new shade of gold:
  23. Thanks everyone! It's one of Matt Willcox's templates, should be available somewhere in the templates thread. Ok whipped up a few more: Arizona Cardinals: Like the Chargers, I decided to pick an obscure color they no longer use and go with blue. Before their current set their uniforms had a bit of blue trim to them, it's sort of a dark royal. The set takes after their simpler uniforms before their current pipefest. For the whiteout I went with a fauxback: Green Bay Packers: Went with two different fauxbacks, mono-green from the 50's, I think? Removed all white from the uniform. The whiteout is 60's inspired. Pittsburgh Steelers: Their blackout remains mostly the same, went with the standard Northwestern stripe on the sleeve (and fit the whole thing on it). For the whiteout, I found images of them wearing an all-white set from the 60's that had yellow sleeves with a black stripe, so I went with it.
  24. Hey everyone, so I had an idea on how to improve the NFL's Color Rush games a bit so I threw a few concepts together and ran with it. Like most people I was pretty underwhelmed with a lot of the designs; some were great but a lot were uninspired. Not to mention we're to week 4 of the season and we haven't even seen a legit color rush matchup yet. So to remedy that here are my rules: -Unis are still monochrome; jersey, pants, and socks are all the same color. Helmets can't change color, facemasks and helmet decals can. -Every team gets two uniforms; one solid colored uniform and a whiteout alt for matchups that clash or when both teams feature the same colored jersey -Team wordmarks and TV numbers are optional -If a team's CR jersey is the same color are their standard home, it will likely be fauxback-inspired -Both uniforms don't have to be color swapped versions of each other. Since most teams already have a whiteout option I thought it'd be boring to slap white socks onto their away unis and call it a day. One uni might be a throwback and the other might be something totally different. I'll figure it out as I go. Ok here we go: LA Rams: I dig the Rams' yellow set so there aren't many changes. Got rid of the toilet seat collar and the pant stripe is solid navy to eliminate all the white for the uniiform. For the whiteout it is a fauxback to their blue and white set of the 60's(?), complete white a white facemask and helmet decals: New Orleans Saints: The Saints' Color Rush is probably my favorite so the whiteout doesn't change, and I simply made a blackout version of that for their second set: San Francisco 49ers: They probably have one of the worst Color Rush sets so I completely scrapped it and went with a set inspired by their uniforms worn in 1994. Thanks for looking, feedback is always appreciated, I'll add teams whenever inspiration hits.
