  1. Alright, now that the season has ended and we're a week into the playoffs. Here is the second series of my predictions for the All-NBA teams. Feel free to comment your opinions. All NBA First Team: G: Stephen Curry - Golden State Warriors G: Russell Westbrook - Oklahoma City Thunder F: LeBron James - Cleveland Cavaliers F: Kevin Durant - Oklahoma City Thunder C: Draymond Green - Golden State Warriors All NBA Second Team: G: Chris Paul - Los Angeles Clippers G: Damien Lillard - Portland Trailblazers F: Kawhi Leonard - San Antonio Spurs F: LaMarcus Aldridge - San Antonio Spurs C: DeAndre Jordan - Los Angeles Clippers All NBA Third Team: G: Kyle Lowry - Toronto Raptors G: James Harden - Houston Rockets F: Paul George - Indiana Pacers F: Paul Millsap - Atlanta Hawks C: Andre Drummond - Detroit Pistons
  2. So he made an account just to make that one post? I know I was completely and utterly dead wrong. I'm going to own up to that because I don't think I got a single thing right. No excuses really, guess I'll try better next season to get it right.
  3. My bad on the jersey choice for Paul George. Thought I'd pick those because they were new but I'll fix that mistake on the second draft. As for the Lillard over Westbrook, in the past few games Lillard's performance has outshined that of Westbrook. But when you take all stats for the season so far into account, Westbrook is has the edge. His numbers in assists, rebounds, and steals are all much higher while Lillard has a slim lead in points per game. Of course Lillard is playing great basketball and is willing a Portland team into a playoff spot when they were expected to be a lottery team. So it's a very close battle between him and Westbrook. There is a large battle among the guards after Curry. But upon second thought, Third Team might be too low for him. He may just take Lowry's spot on the Second Team. Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it. And yes, the Warriors do play Green at center and when they run him there, they're very effective. However, when they do these lists, it is my belief they need an official center.. DeMarcus Cousins plays almost exclusively at the center position and has been the best center in the league so far while Draymond Green spends most of his time at the power forward position. So I would keep Cousins in the first team at the center position mostly for the fact that he is an official center. However, Draymond Green has been playing like an First Team player. Leading the league in assists per game for a forward and being in the top ten for assists per game in the entire league. Also to be leading the league in triple doubles. Those are some stats to marvel at. Unfortunately, being primarily a forward, he's not played well enough to dethrone Kevin Durant and LeBron James at the forward spots on the First Team. However, there is still time left in the season. Anything can happen. You brought up some great points. Thank you. I appreciate it. I'd like to encourage more people to offer feedback.
  4. With about a month and a half left in this NBA season, it's nearing the time where the best of the best are to be rewarded for their excellence by placement on an All NBA Team. Every season since 1946, the NBA has maintained the tradition of naming these teams to honor those players who played exceptionally well for their teams. Last year, the All NBA First Team featured big names such as breakout stars, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, and James Harden. This year however, only one of those players has maintained the level of excellence to maintain that rank of All NBA First Team. These are my predictions for this season's All NBA Teams. If you agree or disagree with my picks please leave a comment stating your opinion. Well, here they are. All NBA First Team: G: Stephen Curry - Golden State Warriors G: Russell Westbrook - Oklahoma City Thunder F: LeBron James - Cleveland Cavaliers F: Kevin Durant - Oklahoma City Thunder C: DeMarcus Cousins - Sacramento Kings All NBA Second Team: G: Chris Paul - Los Angeles Clippers G: Kyle Lowry - Toronto Raptors F: Kawhi Leonard - San Antonio Spurs F: Draymond Green - Golden State Warriors C: Andre Drummond - Detroit Pistons All NBA Third Team: G: Damien Lillard - Portland Trailblazers G: James Harden - Houston Rockets F: Paul George - Indiana Pacers F: Anthony Davis - New Orleans Pelicans C: DeAndre Jordan - Los Angeles Clippers Feedback appreciated.
  5. Sorry for the long wait without an update. I've made some slight changes to the primary logo in that the shadow is now gold and that the curved lines are now much more neat. The jerseys have been changed as well for my original designs were a little bit too dated for today's NBA. The new jerseys now feature a side detail that is somewhat similar to the Rockets' current alternate jersey. I've also added a new number font to the design. Also by request of one of the users, I've created a new secondary logo design. Here are the new designs. Primary Logo: Secondary Logo: Home Jersey: Road Jersey: Alternate Jersey: C & C appreciated!
  6. Back with some updates. I've come up with two variations of the original because I received two different opinions. The first variation is the original minus the Pistons and the second is a variation where the basketball has been removed. 1st Variation: 2nd Variation: About the uniforms, the changes I made were very slight since the Pistons do have a very classic look and I didn't want to make any drastic changes. The biggest changes are in the collars which now feature a red/white/blue color scheme which is a feature that made an appearance on their uniforms during the eighties and also the waist area features the same change. Those are really the only changes to the uniforms. C & C appreciated.
  7. Of all the team logos in the NBA, the Detroit Piston's current logo may be one of the simpler ones. It is merely the team name on a basketball which is fine for an expansion team but not for a team with as great a history as the Pistons. My concept calls upon the greatest era of the Detroit Pistons and that would be the eighties through the early nineties. Back when they were known as the "Bad Boys". The focal point of this concept is in the primary for the jerseys have only received slight changes. The primary features details from the "Bad Boys" era of the Pistons as well as a couple of pistons, the team's namesake. The secondary is simple and the only other real major design change is in the "Motor City" alternate. So, here they are. The Primary Logo: The Secondary Logo: Home Jersey: Road Jersey: Alternate Jersey: C & C appreciated!
  8. For now, the rule is the same in that a division leading team is guaranteed a spot in the top four however Adam Silver has been pushing hard for a change in the rule. So, since the rule has not yet changed here is an updated season and playoff predictions.
  9. I'm sorry if my previous statement came off as offensive, I did not mean for it to come off that way. A lot of what I said was based on facts. However, I understand that I was bias in the earlier posts and I apologize. My earlier post was not meant to be a strike against anyone though. I will try to maintain neutrality among all teams throughout the rest of the thread. I hope that there aren't any hard feelings. That is the real NBA playoff logo, they were supposed to have them appear on the courts during playoff games this past postseason but for some reason they were not used. The Warriors are going to have a hard time in the postseason as well as the rest of the elite teams in the West. Albeit they are one of the four best teams in the West, but again there is no clear cut advantage in the Western Conference because any team that comes out of it will have had to face either a healthy OKC, a San Antonio team that is as strong as they have been in a while, the Warriors who did have a great season last year, or a Clippers team that is much better than last years' team. To me, the two teams that will meet in the WCF will be the Spurs and the Clippers and there is really no telling how it will turn out. The Spurs likely have an advantage because they have more experience in the postseason than the Clippers so I may be wrong on the previous prediction. I believe that Adam Silver is planning to implement it so that playoff seeding is done strictly by record because of what happened with Portland last season. Here is a slightly updated Playoff chart.
  10. The Clippers blew a GOOD chance at making the NBA Finals last season, but I wouldn't say it was their best chance. They have fixed every problem that they had last year with the drop off on talent at small forward and on the bench. I may be a little bit bias since I am a Clippers fan, but you cannot look at their team and not see a team worthy of a Finals appearance. I think that the Spurs have an equally good chance of making the Finals, they some of the best moves in the off season and are definitely going to give the NBA a run for its money. However, when you add in a piece that completely changes the lineup of your team and you are being forced to run Tim Duncan at center without much talent to back him up. It is a high risk, high reward situation. They lost a lot of their depth this off season. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw the Spurs in the Finals, they are among the top 3 teams going into the next season. I just feel that the Clippers proved that they can beat the Spurs with last year's playoff victory. The Warriors will most likely not make the Finals this year. Last year was as lucky a run as their ever has been in the history of the NBA. Besides, the rest of the Western Conference got better while they did nothing to improve their team. If anything the departures of David Lee, a great backup PF, and Alvin Gentry, one of the league's supreme offensive coaches would serve to show that they have gotten worse this off season. Thank you for your comments and I hope that I have addressed every point that you brought to my attention.
  11. The next NBA season is just a few months away and it is sure to be a very exciting one. With key free agents like LaMarcus Aldrige, DeMarre Carrol, and Greg Monroe changing teams, there is sure to be a large difference in the standings for this year. The following are my predictions for how I think next season will go down as well as how the postseason will look. I have devised my predictions through taking into account the movement of free agents and the records that the teams had last year. So, here they are. LPPG: James Harden HOU LFG%: DeAndre Jordan LAC MVP Candidates: 1. LeBron James CLE ROTY: Jahlil Okafor PHI LAPG: Chris Paul LAC LFT%: Stephen Curry GSW 2. 12. So I am back with an updated set of jerseys and logos. I've decided to ditch the color scheme that I was trying before due to the complications and have used the current colors that the Nuggets use in their logo. I also made some slight changes to the overall design of the jerseys. Hopefully this set appears better than the last. Updated Primary Logo: Updated Secondary Logo: Updated Home Jersey: Updated Road Jersey: Updated Alternate Jersey: Denver Pride Alternate: Black Alternate (just for kicks.) C & C appreciated!
  13. I have taken all of your comments into consideration and I have come up with this update for my concept. I have edited the secondary logo and have tried to give it a more modern look. All of the jerseys have been edited and I have taken blue out since it did not appear in the primary logo. It was suggested that I remove black and use blue instead however, when I applied it to the primary logo, I did not feel that it looked as nice as the black/red/gold combo. I have also eliminated the blue alternate and have edited the red alternate. I've also moved up the black jersey ahead of the gold jersey as the primary road jersey. Secondary Logo Home Jersey Road Jersey Gold Alternate Red Alternate C & C appreciated.
  14. Thank you all for your comments, I have taken out some of the extra and unnecessary details that the previous design had and have simplified the concept. I have also supplied another set of alternate jerseys. So, here they are. There are the new updated versions of the original concept. I have removed the player's first name, the shoulder logo, the all-star wording on the front, and the north nation on the shorts. Here are some new designs that came up with by recoloring the original concepts. C & C appreciated!
  15. This upcoming season's All-Star Game is set to take place in Toronto. The Toronto Raptors just underwent a massive re-brand and it is safe to say that most feel it is a downgrade from what they had before. However, they might be able to make it up if the All-Star Jerseys come out nice. Since they have not yet been released, there is no telling what the final product will truly look like. That is where my concepts come in. I have provided a concept as to what I feel what be a nice design for the All-Star Game. The concept that I have is based on jerseys that the Toronto Raptors have sported in the past. The East will wear white since Toronto falls in the Eastern Conference and in Purple (yes, purple makes an appearance) are the Western All Stars. There are also certain elements that I will explain in further detail. Where to start, the overall concept has some designs that are seen on other All Star jerseys such as the team logo and the player's number. The front of each jersey states EAST or WEST depending on where the player plays. The All-Star Logo for Toronto appears on the player's left shoulder and the year "2016" appears above the EAST/WEST. The sides of the jersey feature the familiar design that the Raptors currently use with the silver bars. On the back is where things start to get a little bit interesting. On the back of the collar is a feature new to All-Star jerseys, a little golden strip that states the amount of All-Star appearance that the player has made. This same golden strip appears on the jerseys of teams who have won championships and it reads how many that that certain team has won. Taking the place of the normal NBA logo, one of the alternate logos made for the Toronto All-Star game, a Maple leaf with the NBA logo inside of a star will be placed. Another feature that appears on the concept is that like last year's All-Star jerseys, the player's full name will appear above the number. Appearing below the number is the logo of the team that the player plays for in the NBA. The final feature appears on the back of the shorts, and it is a small phrase that I thought would be cool for an All-Star game up North without saying WE THE NORTH. The phrase is NORTH NATION and I think that it is neutral enough for the All-Star game. That concludes my concept for the All-Star jerseys for 2016 Toronto. I know that they are not perfect and I appreciate it when people point out things that can be improved. C & C appreciated!
  16. So this is my third NBA team concept and I've decided to do an NBA team that has never shied away from some funky designs. That team is the Denver Nuggets. For my design I decided to utilize some elements from the city of Denver itself as well as retouching retired designs from the franchise's past. My concept includes a primary logo, a secondary logo, a home jersey, a road jersey, and an alternate as well as some other ideas for another possible alternate jersey. C & C is always appreciated and I know that these designs are far from perfect so I appreciate it when people point things out so that I may improve this design. The Primary Logo: The Secondary Logo: Home Jersey: Road Jersey: Alternate Jersey: Alternate Concepts: If anything needs any explanation, please do not hesitate to ask. C & C appreciated!
  17. So, a bit of news has come up since I first uploaded this picture and I am now updating my predictions to accommodate this. The fifth and final game's match-up has been announced and I was half right with my prediction. My prediction was Hawks and Spurs but the true game is going to be the Rockets hosting the Spurs. A much better match-up but a shame that such cool Hawks jerseys will go to waste. I also adjusted some of the times for the games as was suggested by some of the viewers of this post. Here are the newly updated predictions.
  18. The leaked match-ups for Christmas in the NBA this upcoming season are looking to be some high octane fun come this holiday season. So far, four of the likely five match-ups have been leaked leaving one match-up unknown. The NBA has already leaked the new Christmas jerseys for every team so it is with those that I have created my prediction on how Christmas day should go down in the NBA. I understand the any predictions made right now are not really worth much seeing that anything can happen between now and December, but these are just how I feel that these match-ups would go down should all teams be healthy. It is also worth noting that I used the TV schedules from last season for this prediction. So, here it is. That's a lot to take in at one time so let me break down each match-up. (NOTE) The scores are really just playing the role of place-holders. The important thing is who wins and who loses and whether it was a close game. GAME 1: 12 pm. EST New Orleans Pelicans @ Miami Heat : This match-up is cool because it features two teams that are on the rise. New Orleans now with a premier coach and a perennial superstar in Anthony Davis and Miami with a brand new roster trying once more to be great following the unfortunate departure of LeBron James. The game will likely feature some intense moments and a close battle but I predict that a star performance from Anthony Davis will cause the Pelicans to upset the Heat in the first Christmas game of 2015. GAME 2: 2:30 pm. EST Atlanta Hawks @ San Antonio Spurs : This was the only slot that has not been leaked yet so I offered my prediction for what two teams would fill the slot. I figured that the NBA would want to put together a match-up that would be off-the-chain exciting. So, why not a battle between Spurs-West and Spurs-East. That's right, the San Antonio Spurs would host the Atlanta Hawks. The Spurs, with the addition of LaMarcus Aldrige and David West look to be a team that could top the Western Conference and the Hawks look primed to make a shot at coming out of the East. It would also be a chance for Tiago Splitter to play against his old team, but that's not really going to sell out a crowd. Now for the prediction of how the game would go. The game would likely be close at first but the amount of talent on the Spurs should eventually best the Hawks and lead to a clear victory for the San Antonio Spurs. GAME 3: 5 pm. EST Chicago Bulls @ Oklahoma City Thunder : Here is a match-up that is sure to capture an audience. Two teams with injured superstars who are making the run at redemption this season with Derrick Rose and Kevin Durant. If both teams are healthy, it is bound to be an epic battle between two playoff bound teams. Kevin Durant (if he is healthy) may use the spotlight to show that he is not only back, but that he is back with a vengeance. That is why I predict that the Thunder will come out on top in this game. GAME 4: 8 pm. EST Los Angeles Clippers @ Los Angeles Lakers : The Lakers look to lose on Christmas for the third straight year. The Los Angeles Clippers play at home on the road as they square up against the Los Angeles Lakers. This match-up is kind of a disappointment as I would rather have seen a Clippers-Spurs match-up, (the most likely match-up for this season's WCF) but a win on Christmas day is nice also. There's sure to be lobs galore as the new and improved Clippers team will find and exploit every hole in the defense of a rag-tag Lakers team and coast to a blow-out victory. Then again, the Lakers do have what may be a rookie sensation in D'Angelo Russel but we will just have to wait and see if he will be a factor in this game. GAME 5: 10:30 pm. EST Cleveland Cavaliers @ Golden State Warriors : Here is what everyone who will be watching on Christmas day will surely be waiting for. A Finals rematch between the Warriors and the Cavaliers will close out the festivities on Christmas day 2015. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love vs. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. I firmly believe that if both teams are perfectly healthy, that the Cavaliers will have NO trouble in beating the Golden State Warriors. One can use last year's Finals as proof of this claim. The Cavaliers were missing two stars in Kyrie and Love and still took the NBA champs to six games. That coupled with the fact that the Warriors lost one of the best offensive coaches in Alvin Gentry will contribute to a Cavaliers victory to close out Christmas day in the NBA. Well, that concludes my predictions for Christmas in the NBA for this upcoming season. Thank you for viewing.
  19. An update to the primary. I've taken out some of the yellow and added more red. Sorry about that, I touched up the logo. C & C appreciated.
  20. Another update for this concept. Hopefully I've fixed all of the issues with it. I've shortened the rocket on the primary so that it no longer sticks out as much... And I have replaced the previous number font with one that more closely resembles what the Rockets currently have. C & C appreciated.
  21. A new update, I've realized that maybe the retro font may be too old of a look for today's NBA, so I changed the original font to the font that the Rockets currently use. I've also added a more realistic looking rocket to the primary logo and have added a tertiary logo which is off of the Rockets' current logo. I changed the Gold again and also made some modifications to the secondary. Here they are. Primary Logo: Secondary Logo: Tertiary Logo: Home Jersey: Road Jersey: Road Alternate: C & C appreciated.
