I am once again asking for the Red Tails.

(Mod edit - no politics) I do like the Red Tails name. Historically speaking, it works and it keeps the word "red" in the name.  Thing is, I think they should go with the exact uniform design the 'Skins had and update the logo accordingly.

Posted this on BigFooty yesterday but thought I'd share it here too. This kit would look unreal with the current colour scheme (Just squint your eyes and pretend its the current Seahawks logo on the shoulder and helmet lol)

A similar shade of the blue as the Cowboys paired with silver? No thanks. The first pic is the look that should be permanent for the Seahawks. The current design is garbage and so is the design they switched to in 2002 ( I think that was the year).

The Cardinals are literally the oldest franchise in the league lol

Literally, as opposed to figuratively? That word is not necessary.  That word along with "clean" and "icy" needs to be used way less, if not eliminated.

Where did I say anything about the age of the franchise? You're taking my comments out of context. I said absolutely nothing about the age of the franchise. I'm talking about the tradition of the uniforms, which I clearly articulated but you chose to ignore and bring up something irrelevant to the conversation.

If the Cardinals really are using yellow in their new uniforms I think that’s a huge mistake. It’s like the Chiefs adding black trim or the Steelers adding red or blue to their uniforms. The Cardinals don’t need anything besides red and white. I don’t even think they need the black trim but I can live with that.  Adding yellow would give the uniforms a very gimmicky/minor league feel IMO. I don’t know how to articulate how I feel other than to say it would be wrong and I don’t like it.

The Chiefs and Steelers have mostly kept to tradition with their uniforms, so I have to reject your comparisons. The Cardinals don't have that tradition like the Chiefs and Steelers so I believe yellow would be fine as a complementary color since yellow is the color of the beak in the logo.

I'd have to see the uniforms with the yellow in them, but as of now I don't hate it.

  5. I dig the uniforms and I expected it to be swap out of purple and orange for black and yellow.  Would have preferred either a yellow helmet or put some white stripes (are they called sandwich stripes?) on either side of the yellow on the helmet - only to be a bit different than the Steelers. I like the glossy helmet, especially when you contrast to the Steelers satin helmets.

I'm in agreement with Volt on adding some gray. I would have gone with gray pants rather than white. I absolutely hate white pants 99% of the time when it comes to football uniforms but gray pants would have matched the gray facemasks.

Wow, someone beat me to the silver/gray thing, but I didn't even think about this great example.  That uniform is actually very nice.

I think to keep true to Pittsburgh cookie-cutter colors, yet have their own slant on them, silver or gray (preferably gray) would work very well with the Maulers set AND it would actually keep a link to their team history as it's already been an established color in both the 1.0 and 2.0a sets.

I'd like to see gray in the background of the logo instead of the stark white...it would also serve to separate them from the Steelers more.  One  thing I hated about the 2.0a set was the ridiculously heavy number outlines...I really hope they tone them back or remove them completely.

The Penguins incorporated gray in their uniforms from 1996 - 2000. I wasn't offended by that as much as I was the hideous humming bird logo and goofy imbalanced striping patterns.

Let the yinzers be yinzers. They will cry to high hell.

I'm a yinzer. I never cried to high hell or any other level of hell about using black and yellow/gold. I like that our teams are unique in using the same colors - which are the colors in the Pittsburgh flag. It always made sense to me to use the colors that are in the city's flag. Despite that, I loved the original Maulers uniforms and I'm old enough to remember when they played. I even bought their merch when I was a kid. I do remember there was a bit of a push back on using purple and orange back then. I'm not a fan of the new design since I prefer traditional striping but I did like the colors.

I'd prefer the Steelers in block numbers, personally, but I don't think the Futura is terrible. My main issue is with the slight italic.  I've never been a fan of italicized number in football, and italicizing them defeats the whole"match the helmet numbers" thing.  Maybe just de-italicize them, and it would be better.

Or, just go back to the block numbers because they look better.

(That 70's Steeler throwback needs a gray facemask.  What, you thought I wasn't going to say it?)

Slight italic? I don't see it and I'm no fan of that look either.

They definitely should be going with a gray facemask. I don't know they aren't if they're throwing it back to 1972 this weekend.

That's not correct.  They used a local designer, who, according to his LinkedIn, hasn't been affiliated with Nike for more than 3 years.

I stand corrected and shouldn't have assumed, but used to be affiliated with Nee-kay is bad enough. I still don't like the blandness of the rebrand. Garbage compared to what they had.

(Now if you want the Steelers' reason for keeping the 1998 update around, I'd say point to merchandise sales...because if you know Steelerheads like I do, you could sell them a dangone toothbrush just because it has a Steeler logo on it...of course they'd double up on the jersey swag, man! 💶)

It was actually 1997 when the Steelers made the change but you're absolutely right about us Yinzers buying up the Steelers merch. More so when the Steelers are competing for Super Bowls. During the down years, the merchants in the Strip District have tons of unsold Steelers merchandise.

This is the nicest uniform they've ever worn and it's a travesty that their new sets didn't adopt this as the Away design and have coordinating home & CR designs to go with it.

It's one of the nicest uniforms worn in the league's recent history.

Your opinion is absolutely, positively AWFUL.

LOL. What are we in sixth grade, repeating words to each other? Black and white are for zebras and referees. Not a professional football team.  Why are you butthurt over my comments? Do you need validation for liking those uniforms?

Blandest. Worst. Definitely not nicest. Not a chance. I'm not sure why you care so much about what I think. You're entitled to your opinion. I'm entitled to mine. Those uniforms are dog 💩.

You do realize they are not wearing the current uniforms on Thursday with the white helmet. They are actually wearing the former color rush uniform:

I do realize that and those uniforms look absolutely, positively AWFUL.  Black and white makes no sense for the Bengals. None. What a horrible decision to go with these uniforms.

Color rush is a farce. There is no color and there is no rush with those abominations.

Bengals are practicing in their white helmets for the first time today. It's kind of weird/surreal to actually see photos of it for real. It almost feels photoshoped.

That looks even worse than I imagined. Just f'ing awful!

So instead of looking orange it will look peach?

SMH.  What a horrible idea. When I first heard the rumor of the Bengals using a white helmet, I laughed. I thought that it was some silly fan drivel that would never come to fruition. Well, here we are and I was wrong. An albino tiger. Makes no sense to me. Seems like we've gone from "black for blacks's sake"  to white for white's sake, it seems.

The shame of it is, the Bengals greatly improved their uniforms with this current set. If it were up to me, I'd scrap the white completely. It's hot garbage - and I'd emphasize the orange. They should have two sets of pants - orange and black. That's it.

My unpopular opinion is that Bone aside, the Rams uniforms have really grown on me. My only real gripe is the gradient numbers, and they're not even that bad while watching a game

Wish I could agree. I didn't like them when they were unveiled but wanted to see how they look on game day. They're a big MEH for me. The gradient sucks and so do the horns on the helmets, which look like goat horns and a crescent moon. Awful.

Swaggy? Nah, more like :censored:ty. The Jets just made their uniforms even uglier with the black helmet. FFS, those are terrible uniforms even without the black.
