So the Mets are teasing purple, which means their City Connect will be based on the 7 train that stops at Citi Field

Surprised the Mets City Connect hasn't leaked yet. A month out from its on-field debut.

"So he did the safe thing—largely stayed with the demographically safe red and blue (with a touch of black at the edges),"
Black at the edges?

The ESPN piece called it a "skelican" which I love. That's an example of where some of this NBA "innovation" I think is actually fun and different, these tertiary looks that aren't just the base uniform in a third colorway but actually a clever, alternate brand. The problem (beyond these hideous courts) is that we're getting 2% cool, thoughtful alternate and 98% greedy excess of thrown spaghetti against the wall.
It's also stupid that they're not wearing them for their games around Halloween because they haven't even officially announced them yet.

The Pelicans' voodoo logo is actually super cool. Shame the city uniforms are so minimalist.

Newsday, the NY newspaper owned by the Dolan family, still uses the old Knicks logo. (Or at least they did last time I saw a copy.)

Doozy of a uniform match-up in this Villanova-Seton Hall game right now. Light blue vs. grey. Looks even worse on the actual TV screen than in this photo.

Those colors were used because they're the colors of Mickey Mouse. Yes, seriously.

Paul Lukas confirmed that the reason teams can't wear cream colored uniforms anymore is because of the digital court ads.
So can the Nets corner the market on cream jerseys since their court is grey? And only wear them at home? Brooklyn Cream Nights presented by Junior's Cheesecake.

also noticed the nets court have a mismatching paint design. wonder if thats a mistake or if its actually like that.
Doubt it's a mistake, the Nets have shown they're not afraid to do new things with their court design. I actually like it.

Just looking through all your designs for the first time—absolutely beautiful work. I can't even imagine better designs for nearly any teams.

Quick crappy photoshop job, but to me this would be an instant improvement.

Just noticed that all of the Grizzlies social media graphics have been teal all season. And apparently they use teal for in arena graphics too. Wonder if they're teasing a full-time return to the old colors.

The tough thing about the Spurs/fiesta is that the wordmark and logo have always stayed black and silver, and they aren't really recolorable. This has always been the obstacle to a fiesta jersey, and that's why last year's, as well as the vintage warmups we all know and love, found success in always using scripts that were well outside the standard Spurs brand identity.
Should just use the city name and do something like what Conrad mocked up. I love how this looks

The update of the 80s Helvetica logo is clever and I like it, but slapping BKLYN on the 90s logo is trying too hard. And having both in the same set is really just too much, but I guess that's the entire philosophy these days.
The BKLYN 90s logo is only on the warmup jacket though. The shorts have the 80s logo and a small Kidd-era logo with "B" on the ball on the belt buckle area.

Wishbone collars in general are awful. I don't think there's a single use of them I like at this point.
Surprised to see mixed reactions to the Nets set. I think they knocked it out of the park and the side piping somehow works great to my eyes. I especially love those hybrid NJ/Brooklyn logos.

The Grizzlies' warm-ups are even more nuts, combining the city edition colors with teal https://lockervision.nba.com/outfit/memphis-grizzlies/city-edition

Lockervision also has the warmups and shooting shirts up. The Nets' jacket is wild! I love it.

They are actually doing a giveaway of a Piazza Mercury Mets replica jersey in July. Shame they won't wear them again for one game!
