As for the blue design, you're 100% correct that it definitely doesn't feel right. I actually miss the red numbers on your original version, but between green and gold or blue and green, the choice is easy.

Yeah, now that I think about it, I can see how blue and green would look too Seattleesque for comfort :P

What if... the Dodgers relocated to Oakland?

Although the Dodgers never seemed to have much interest, the City of Oakland Baseball Committee sent a letter to Walter O. Malley encouraging him to consider moving to the city. Green actually has precedence in Dodgers history.

I’m not so sure the Dodgers would be so quick to drop their classic blue. I’m wondering how this might look in the classic blue and white but keeping green as an accent color (e.g., for the front numbers).

Would the Minnesota BASEBALL Vikings also be eternally cursed by the being best team in the MLB to never win a World Series?

Well the franchise had already won the WS in 1920 and 1948, so unless you’re referring exclusively to their time in Minnesota, the answer is no.

  4. One thing I thought I’d mention: if you ever consider changing the Las Vegas team’s name, I’d recommend checking out JB-the-Hunter’s aborted “Alternate Universe National Football League” thread:

Personally, I like the sound of  “Las Vegas Lights” better than “Las Vegas Gamblers”, though now that I think about it, I can see how it would conflict with your Quebec team. Maybe for Quebec, you could go all-in with the Northern Lights theme and call them the Aurores?

All these schools bought the ticket for all these crazy realignments, now they have to get on the ride. And it's not going to go how any of them expect it will, because I'm still hearing music playing, which means the game of musical chairs is still on.

    Big Ten

    East Division West Division
    Indiana Illinois
    Michigan Iowa
    Michigan State Iowa State
    Northwestern Minnesota
    Ohio State Missouri
    Purdue Wisconsin

    Adds: Iowa State, Missouri

Subtractions: Maryland, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers

TBH I don’t mind Penn State in the Big 10. For 12 teams I’d do yours but with Penn State instead of Missouri (and moving Northwestern to the West). For 14 teams, I’d do yours plus Nebraska and Penn State, though I do think 14 is kinda stretching it. I agree though that USC and UCLA joining the Big Ten is not a good move.

  7. All the Newswire pages past page 100 on the Wix website seem to not be loading properly. I currently can’t seem to access anything after 1988 Week 11 but before 1992 Week 7 (and when I refreshed the 1988 Week 11 Standings, it went blank despite having worked fine before).

Edit: 1988 Week 11 Standings is working fine again. Maybe I just had too many tabs open.

I am not seeing an issue with the Alt History "USFL Lives" Site, but let me know if you are.

When I try to go to the last page on Newswire (i.e., the one that would show the earliest posts on the website), it just shows the most recent posts. Also, when I try to go to a specific page of Newswire (e.g., page 125),  it says “Check back soon    Once posts are published, you’ll see them here”.

  9. My personal suggestion for a more geographically accurate NFL alignment:

    AFC:

East: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets

North: Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers

South: Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans

West: Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders

    NFC:

East: Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders

North: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings

South: Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

West: Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks

I suppose the Steelers and Ravens could be swapped to keep Browns-Ravens a division rivalry and to make Colts-Ravens (Baltimore’s old vs new team) a division rivalry too.
