Why does it not "work" for hockey? 

I cannot understand this overwhelming desire to maintain the status quo of quite possibly the most boring uniform in all of professional sports - the NHL road.

I like the look. Glad they did something unique for the trip and wouldn't mind more teams doing it, as long as colours are dissimilar (i.e. not during Toronto v Tampa).

Surprised that the Canes (and Kings 3rd) are the only teams who go coloured helmet w/ white.

It's entirely possible that a player doesn't have a wrong jersey.

As a neutral with no "favourite" NFL team, I see Manning as a Colt and a Bronco. He performed well in both cities.

If he went to, say, Tennessee for a season and stunk up the place a la Favre, then you may have a point about him being in a wrong jersey.
