  1. Anybody know? This happens to me as well. It seems the javascript for the drop down box isn't properly activated when loading the page. The only way I found to have the drop down box is to first hover on a member name. This will trigger a popup of the member. Then when you hover the notifications icons, it will give you the drop down box. It's a workaround, but it allows you to remove the number on the notifications icons.
  2. Activate the smart guides to help you (View -> Smart Guides). You have two options to modify this: 1- Unselect whatever selection you currently have. Select the Direct Selection Tool (A). Hover around the anchor that is below the line, you will see the line light up with a small "Anchor" beside it. Click on the anchor and move it up until you intersect the other path. The other path will then light up to show you that you're dead on. 2- Bring your path to the front and keep it selected. Pick the scissors. Hover around the intersection until you get both lines colored with a "intersection" text. Click on the intersection - it will cut the top path in two sections. Take the selection tool and select the part you want to remove. Delete. The smart guides are probably your best friend at this point. It took me a while to discover those, but I don't know how I managed to use Illustrator without them. It saves a ton of time.
  3. I'm looking to match both fonts from the Brampton Capitals logo:
  4. What is the maximum image size we can add in a post before it is automatically resized by the boards?
  5. I get the exact same issue, especially when looking at threads in the Forum Announcements. I looked into the code and there is a call to an unknown script from another website: Hopefully a mod can bring this to Chris's or Clark's attention?
  6. Only mods can send messages to more than 1 recipient.
  7. 1. Calm down. 2. Can you post the URL you are trying to use so we can better help? Just copy and paste it in a post, without any tags.
  8. Is the "Automatically detect DST" checkbox checked? That's the only other thing I could see messing this up.
  9. Wait, what? Did the owner just, like, post on Craigslist "Free hockey team to a good home. Must provide your own rink. Pick them up at the corner of 3rd and Wellington"? How does an owner just leave a team? He'll still be part owner, just as he's been ever since he joined the Remparts.
  10. It's too logical for the NHL to actually do something like that.
  11. Yes and no... It means, as the nameservers point out, that both sites are hosted by 1and1... The coincidence is uncanny, and the Joyce Clark website has been registered privately, but other than that, there's not much you can say. All web hosts share server space for websites, so ultimately, they have the same IP address as others, but are locally (as in the server) redirected to show the correct website. Verdict: possible coincidence, but does look fishy, considering Fallar's antics.
  12. Not quite... Rudeness, in French, would be "grossièreté". Rudesse really translates to roughing as it is a physical act, whereas grossièreté is more of a verbal act.
  13. Fonts/Font size appears different to me too. Same for me on Firefox.
  14. Out of curiosity, what do they exactly see as the incredible underdog story? Their current run for the Cup or that there might finally be an owner willing to buy the franchise?
  15. First round 17,538 17,539 17,746 Second round 17,187 17,217 17,182 Arena capacity: 17,125 (17,799 with standing room)
  16. To see the stats of the thread, just click on the amount of post under the stats column when you're looking in one forum.
  17. It's a sim rendering of a new Quebec arena, descriptively called "the multifunctional amphitheater of Quebec -- from dreams to reality!" It shows the key features of the place, like a 360 degree concourse, bars and restaurants and "all the services" in a "Zone Club," neat-o VIP seats right next to the benches, a glass wall so you can watch the players come in and out of the locker room, and an outdoor patio. Looks really cool, but I didn't see a call to action or timeline. Also, my French isn't very good, so who knows? That's pretty much what was in the video. No need to be good in French to understand it As far as timeline goes, it is set to break ground late this summer, and to be ready three years after, late summer in 2015.
  18. "The gentlemen occupying the Colisee will have to make order of the mess in their place." I think Quebec City just evicted the Remparts I think your translation's off. Google Translate says: "People occupying the Colisee would have to order a "household" in their premises". I think what it means is not that the Remparts are out, but that they would have to be a secondary tenant in the case an NHL team moves in (until the new arena is built). In this case, it simply means that they should tidy up their offices... Likely to make room for another tenant. I don't think this would work... It can hold only 5,000, and the Remparts usually have around 10,000 in attendance. It's pretty obvious those numbers will drop if the NHL returns to Québec City, but my guess is the QMJHL would like to have the Remparts stay at the Colisée for now. Bigot.
  19. Once again, the deal between Quebecor and Quebec City is not about building the arena. The deal is for naming rights and facilities management. Quebec City and the provincial government have already announced their financial participation in funding the $400M arena. The city is simply taking into account the money that Quebecor will pay into what they can afford, and that's why they say they can't go forward without that deal. They should build something within their financial means, but of course, that's not going to happen.
  20. I'm sure I saw a post on here about what percentage of the $400 million Quebecor are willing to offer, something about between $100-200 million from Quebecor, depending on the arena's use. So my theory is the people of Quebec City and the rest of the province don't want to pay taxes for a $400 million arena, if they're paying it all on there own. If QC can secure an NHL team before say 2013, then Quebecor could pay a substantial amount of that $400 million (up to 50%), making the average Quebecois taxpayer happy and hockey fans extremely happy knowing they have a team back. If they do get a team sooner than 2015 then it could be a possibility playing in the Colisee Pepsi, or whatever its called these days, for a season or 2 until they move into their new arena. If QC get a team before then it could concrete the planned arena and risk it falling through. Quebecor isn't paying anything out of the $400 million the arena will cost. The provincial government will pay $200 million, the city will pay the rest, even if the bill comes up to more than $400 million. Quebecor will pay upfront for naming rights of the arena for the next 25 years: $30-some million if they don't have an NHL team when the arena opens, $63 million if there's an NHL team. They :censored:ed both municipal and provincial governments by having them both provide cash for an arena that may or may not be used for a hockey team. At least, if they do get an NHL team, they have agreed to keep it here for the next 25 years and would pay hefty charges if they decided to move the team. Basically, while the average fan is happy, everyone in the province will be footing the bill for the new arena, which is simply nonsense. Add to this that the Bell Centre cost $270 million to build, all privately funded (which would come to $364 million in 2011 dollars). I just don't see how an arena smaller than the Bell Centre would cost $400 million, unless they put gold plated :censored:holes. TVA Sports is already on the air, and this begins the "sports cold war" between Bell and Videotron (Quebecor's cable TV company): Bell doesn't agree to carry TVA Sports, therefore Videotron refuses to carry RDS2 (french equivalent of TSN2).
