  1. Umm, yeah there are similarities, but is in now way the same logo. Similarities? Hell, without the window-dressing changes (hat), it's the same damn guy. Look at the eye. Exactly identical. They took his sword and changed his hat. Removed some of the mustache. That's it. It's easy to tell that these logos came from the same process. I, personally, think the first one, with a few tweaks, defiantely is better than the one they went with. Especially with the hat, it ties in better to the previous one they used during the 80's... and before. I agree. I never liked the bandanna on head without the traditional pirate hat.
  2. They seem to be regressing. Last couple of years, they were going for more the fashionable style clothes. Now, they're back to their original premise, low-priced crapwear (i.e. ill fitted jeans and polos).
  3. The Habs' problems are a helluva lot deeper than just Carey Price. But of course, he's public enemy #1 in Montreal.
  4. it is definitely less oval-shaped - scrunched, if you will.

  6. Why? Have you seen their uniform set? Just wonderin'... Clearly the school is not swayed by any current trends.
  7. Bahaaahaaahaaa. I think i'd rather see the crayon Patsox design win it. If this won, i'd like to see the "dozens" that didn't. LOL! Nice turnout. Dozens.
  8. I like it. Better than some italicized ACTION FONT. Penn State is above that noise. and the 1996 logo looked like a housecat.
  9. Contraction is stupid? We've got franchises collapsing upon themselves. We've run out of viable locations to run to and grab the gleaming new ballpark prize. And no, there are no viable locations in Alameda County. With the massive cash shortfall that's hitting the county very hard, schools closing across the board, companies being hit left and right, jobs gutted, this is no time for a frivolous ballpark. Oakland in particular is in shambles. Contra Costa County (the more affluent county adjacent to Alameda that contains many A's fans) is in dire straits financially.
  10. Im just pleased as punch that the B's didn't trade Phil the Thrill. YAY! Onwards!
  11. I dunno. Norm Green came off like a slimebag when he moved the North Stars out of their natural habitat.
  12. That is SOOO much of an Oakland Raiders Ripoff.... I think someone's gonna get sued! I don't know where you got Oakland Raiders from.. This is OBVIOUSLY the Denver Broncos!!!! Admit it, you felt like you were TOP OF THE WORLD after hitting "Add Reply" there...
  13. I don't know Lecavalier well enough to say, but some players enjoy the spotlight. Mats Sundin loved playing in Toronto, which has the 2nd most demanding media after Montreal. When he left Toronto, he could've gone to a "nobody cares' market, but instead chose Vancouver. Some players like the pressure, some dont (Brian McCabe ) To be fair, Toronto (and certainly Vancouver) are much more forgiving fanbases than Montreal. By far.
  14. Vinny isn't young and stupid at this point, or at least I would assume so. Doesn't matter if he's got three cigs in his mouth at a party or just taking some dame out to eat downtown. La Presse will be ON THAT like no one's business.
  15. THank **** for this. And god knows i've hated the unnecessary uni b.s. that's polluting the current Vikes, Cards, Falcs sets. Yeah! Because piping is da debil! Grey face masks for every team! Bring back 1960! Sounds good to me. Better than some flaming chicken logo and blocks of color, piping and assorted tomfoolery to make even the most garish CFL team designer blush...

  17. CHUNICHI! Best one of the thread! Always loved the Dodger-esque script, too.
  18. It's a life in a glass fishbowl existence in La Belle Province for the beloved Habs. Look at poor Carey Price and his pictures. You think Vinny Lecavalier or any other homegrown talent wants to come back and deal with that b.s.?
  19. Love it. I miss the old colors, logo. The Adrian Dantley, Mark Eaton-era togs.
  20. Agreed. The collar look is very clean. Of course, adidas has no idea how such a classic, beatiful design slipped by their design vetting, and will be working post haste to rectify the situation. Hence the tit blocker look.
  21. Great work. I wish that is what they go with if they decide to modernize the thing.
