Half of your statement is correct. Cruz was actually part of the Mets and A's systems before joining Milwaukee. But you are right that he was part of the trade that sent Carlos Lee to Texas.

Considering his relatively long tenure with the squad before getting traded (for Tim Hardaway) it's still jarring for some Heat fans to see him in anything but a Heat uniform. At the end of the season, Division II and Division III combine in the playoffs for the "I Pretend I'm Still Playing High School Football" trophy. If you finish dead last in the Division II/III playoff, a ceremony is held where each of the players moms stands in front of the crowd and tells their sons, "It's okay, I still love you anyway," so that they can believe they have at least 1 fan.

I see in your future Oregon and Oregon State have no football teams.

#27 isn't really the wrong number for him per se. He wore it with San Diego, Florida, and Atlanta. He wore #25 with Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore. In fact, for whatever reason, he switched mid-tenure in Florida.

That's Gaylord Perry. He played in Seattle for parts of '82 and '83 and won his 300th game there. Since he played for 9 or 10 teams, I'd hesitate to say that any uniform really looks "wrong" on the guy, but I believe he's in the HOF as a SF Giant.
