  1. really enjoy this thread? i appreciate the thought and research behind all of the work?the throwback idea of including your initial ideas from the past is great... I have sketchbooks of ideas in the same vain?. I've posted some of the updated ideas a while back on the boards here but never as extensively as you have? great work!
  2. Pen, paper, some markers, and a scanner. It's all you need. Seriously. I agree start there... and then invest in illustrator... take the time to play and learn... the time and effort will be worth it...
  3. yikes! you know more about Jonco than i ever would like too... does your league have a web site? where can i find more information?
  4. here's a couple of shots with the uni's... this is where Jonco was a bit limiting to say the least... we weren't forced to use Jonco but they reproduced the logo the best from all the vendors i worked with... I've seen other teams from other cities with some decent sweaters... some teams just don't care what they look like or have anybody that knows illustrator...
  5. Are you playing for a house league now? what do you mean split off from HNA... did you startup your own league?
  6. HNA... you either love it or hate it... the chicago chapter is run rather well... i created the logo and art directed the uni design... Jonco produced them...
  7. thanks for the kind words... i agree with you Webb... the HNA copy could be more readable, to be honest i wasn't even sure i should include it, but i felt it needed something other than the logo and the years...
  8. created some wallpapers for the mens league team i play on... thought i would share. AI CS3 + PS CS3 + MAC www.notions-online.com/beavers
  9. i think both of these are great... original, excellently rendered, clean, professional, good use of color... general applause overall...
  10. i agree with you entirely... i spent more time on the uni's than i did on the logo... which is the exact opposite of the way it should be done... corporate identity should come first and them uni development... i won't rehash the whole deal but i spent on average 30-45 minutes on each of these... they were quick, down and dirty... for the fun of it kinda thing...
  11. this is cool, well done! the osprey is great... my only crit is maybe it could be a bit simpler... that's just me ...
  12. really well done... well executed, thought out + presented... really clean...

red is a tough color to work with form a tonality aspect... i have to say you've used it well... i prefer this to their current color palette... back to their roots... it's always good to go home...
  14. here are some i did... not all of them were chosen or submitted in time... oops... anyway, i had posted these in topics i had started on this board... but since some one asked... here they are again...
