Man, just when I had finally forgotten about that...

...and he didn't want to take Nick Swisher's number 30 from him, even though Swisher offered it to him.Griffey
When the eff did that happen??
Wrong uniform, wrong number...just all the way wrong.
The Reds traded him at the deadline in 2008 to the Sox. The next year he returned to Seattle.

Are those cheerleaders or Hooters waitresses?

I'm trying to ID both of the fonts in this:
Heh. Actually, there are three fonts in that picture - I'm just looking for the two at the top.

On the bright side, it wound up being a 1-for-1 swap!Of course the worst piece of sports related political pandering, at least in America, that I can think of was when Giuliani, a guy who has made a lot of political capital out of being a Yankees fan, said he was rooting for the Red Sox in the World Series in 07, months before the NH primary. -
Here's one I'm trying to find...I keep thinking of Kabel, but I don't think that's it...

Here's Jake Peavy rehabbing with the Charlotte Knights:
-
.202 with 3 HR, 51 RBI, 30 SB, and 11 errors
Of course, that was in AA. He never saw a day of real major-league action.
I did, however, see him in a pre-season exhibition game against the Cubs at Wrigley where he went 2-4 with a double.

I'm probably wrong, but isn't that his stint with Cleveland?
You're correct, that's an Indians uniform.

It's a cool site, and that salary was part of the beginning of some CFL teams foolishly thinking they could compete with the money pouring into the NFL. It wasn't as a big a deal then as it has since become (The NFL's money making), but there was still a big difference. In the 60's & before the NFL wasn't there yet & the CFL could compete--but in the 70's some teams got foolish--and nearly derailed the CFL in the process.
I remember that the Alouettes signed Vince Ferragamo:
and James Scott:
...to contracts right around the same time.

To further compound the Griffey strangeness:
After today, he'll be wearing #30, so him wearing #17 for the White Sox is...well...extra rare!

Nellie Fox at the beginning of his career as a Philadelphia Athletic:
...and at the end as a Colt .45:

I should know this, but I'm drawing a blank...the number "25" in this picture?
I keep coming close, but not quite close enough.
-
Sammy Sosa
I'll do you one better!
Sammy Sosa, with the White Sox, on 1990's "Turn Back The Clock" day!
-
I had forgotten all about this, and I'm a Sox fan.

Anybody know something that looks like the uniform number on this (the 25, not the 40 patch)?
I figure that this isn't a readily available font, so I'll settle for something close.
-
Anybody know what font this is (or something similar and, preferably, free)?
Oh, man, I kept thinking that I've stumped you, but didn't notice that my image was replaced with a hotlink notice. Image fixed, still looking for it, if possible.
-
Thanks, man. You never cease to amaze me.

Here's one I'm looking for:
It's the font used by Topps on their 1987 set...TIA!
-
Here's one:
I'm looking for the "Get out of jail, free" font...
I think it may be in the Swiss family, but darn those plain sans-serif fonts, they all look the same to me!

While I'm not unhappy with it, this is still gonna look odd:
