Cadaco All Star Baseball (with the spinners) was awesome. I had my dad's game from the 60s and also the one they made in the late 80s.
-
lol they had them already?

Which would be better, moving it to winter and the Euro teams telling them to F off, or keeping it in the summer and moving it to the US?
-
"Somebody has to be last"?
Wow. That is, unfortunately, about the most coherent rationalization of the Rays' pathetic attendance I've ever read. Which means it's long past time to move this team.
When said attendance isn't terrible it most certainly is...
18,000+ a game despite their stadium challenges is not terrible by any measure. We're not talking the 7,500 a game the Expos were getting in 2001 which was and remains truly terrible. That was more than enough justification for moving the Expos. 18,000+ in Tampa is not.
There was no justification for moving the Expos besides "MLB wants them to fail so they are going to do their damndest to make sure of it"
The whole deal with Bud Selig and Jeffrey Loria and John Henry is absolutely disgraceful

Probably someone bought it as a fake and then scammed Dick's into taking it as a return

Jeff O'Neill has really utilized Twitter well to effectively distinguish himself as a lunkhead.
effington could be a wonderful effing place
(I liked when he was saying the lockout was over for no reason and people believed it)

It drives me nuts to see autographs on fake jerseys. I guess the players don't care because they got paid but ugh, you'd put that on the wall?
It's also particularly stupid seeing fake jerseys on the wall, at say, Buffalo Wild Wings. It's a business expense! It's tax deductible! Buy the real goddamn thing!

I own an Oakland Seals fake, because the NHL refuses to produce green-and-blue era Seals jerseys for whatever reason. The numbers were so poor though, I stripped them off and had EPS replace them with something far more authentic. Still scared to wash the thing, though.
Two of the more popular fakes I see at Penguins games are 91-92 Stanley Cup jerseys with the SC, Badger Bob, and anniversary patches, and Sidney Crosby Rimouski jerseys with the Memorial Cup patches. You can't buy the 91-92 jerseys with the patches and you can't buy the Rimouski jeresys at all.

Darren Rovell is going to have a bit about fake jerseys on Outside The Lines sunday morning
I disagree with his assertion that fake jerseys have gotten really close to the real thing. Close enough that people don't care because they are $200 cheaper yes; however they are still instantly distinguishable as fake.

Don't get me started on the music industry. I will post one example of the stupidity of that industry. Metallica Ride The Lightning is a 13-17 dollar CD. 30 years old, should be able to be sold for no more than 9.99
Remember when CDs first came out in the early 80s and were expensive as hell but they said "don't worry they'll get cheaper" XD

The only fake jerseys you'd ever see people wearing at the time were teenage boys in soccer jerseys - usually either EPL or international kits. Those ones were typically well done and resembled the real thing, presumably because people actually knew what they were supposed to look like.
Soccer fakes range from ones that are damn near identical to the real thing to others that are bloody atrocious. Most of the ones here in England fall into the latter category (I suspect that's because the real thing isn't that expensive but does date rather quickly), whereas in some of the markets I've been to abroad, I've had to triple-check to believe they were fake (and I know what I'm looking for more than most).
My favorite are Adidas soccer fakes with the wrong number of stripes
-
Man, over $100 even for the fakes? I'd rather buy a limited for $135. I thought the whole point of fakes was "I don't care if they aren't even that close to the real thing, they're so much cheaper".
-
The Nike fakes I've seen so far are hilariously bad, even for knockoff jerseys. The NFL shield is either the old one or a really crappy plastic new one, and anything with a flywire collar looks like a blind person went nuts with a sewing machine.

if you didn't read this in your head with a French accent, turn off your computer and go feel shame

There's no doubt that this is an ego trip by Bettman. He's already got egg on his face from the Thrashers moving, so he'll do anything he can to keep that illegitimate franchise down south so he doesn't get hit again.
What a joke.
yes league decisions are subject to the whims and ego of Gary Bettman and not the best interests of the team owners who want to make as much money as possible
"no doubt" hahahaha you idiots won't be happy until every Canadian city with more than 30,000 people has an NHL team
-
this one is definitely wrong, the captain's C is awful and all the cresting seems put on at the wrong angle. the size tag is also wrong
-
I just threw up... now these bastards are starting to knock off old CCM 550 and 6100's. I saw a knockoff of Tampa Bay cup jersey on ebay
I've seen fake Bure and Linden 94 Canucks jerseys for a while, and 91 Lemieux jerseys too. Which is a shame, because they come with all the patches (Badger Bob, 2 Pts, Cup Finals) and no legit jersey you can buy does. Same with the Crosby Oceanic Memorial Cup jerseys. Can't buy that one legit if you wanted, let alone with the MasterCard Memorial Cup patch.

Did that teenager buy an Indo-Edge? If so, lulz
No, that's an Edge 1.0 (notice the Rbk neck tag). Indo Edges have that obnoxious neon green stripe and no neck tag at all.

Your paper needs to mention counterfeit jeans and the Simpsons.
So long, gotta catch the five oh one!

I kinda wish the counterfeit mills would get cracking on those concept hockey jerseys as soccer jerseys that guy creates. I'd love to wear some of those as I'm reaching Dany Heatley speed on public roads.
-
Truth is though, that many fakes are so well made that it's hard to even tell.
Really? Everything I've ever seen posted anywhere as "yeah I got this from an Asian knockoff site" is such obvious garbage. The letters and numbers are terrible.

For all you that are freaking out about price for authentics, Rivercitysports.com has them reg $269 on for $149 right now.
Assuming they wouldn't sell them at a loss
businesses NEVER sell things at a loss to either (a) get rid of them quick or (b ) generate publicity/goodwill and thus repeat business
Players on the "RIGHT" Team, but "WRONG" Uniform
