  1. Funny - I go to StadiumPage.com all the time (and the Stadium Graveyard page), and never even noticed the WS Rings extension. Looks like I have a new bookmark to add.

I just really launched the World Series Rings site to the public in the begining of October (thats why you probably missed it before). Had I known this tread was here in the first place, it would have saved me some time looking for some of these.

Today was the first time I visited your site as well and I have to say, I admire your work and time you?ve put into those. Great job!

  2. I completely agree! Any thoughts on where the old banners go when they're taken down?

The Oilers replaced all their old banners with new ones 5 years ago (don't worry, they didn't change them, they're just made of a material that doesn't break down and lose its colour over time), and they auctioned off all the old ones for charity.

That's too bad the team didn't hold onto them and just placed them in their training facility or something like that. In my opinion, the original banners are just as important as any championship trophy itself.

  3. So if the L.A. beats Detroit in '04, you would associate Karl Malone with the Lakers more than you would the Jazz?

Heck no! To me, this is one of the weirdest photos to look at in the World of Sports....

Its odd isn't it. I brought up KG earlier as a Celtic. But I think there is a difference. I think Malone winning a championship with LA would have been more akin to Ray Bourque winning a cup with the Avalanche, than KG in Boston. I think that Malone went to LA to win a championship, rather than to lead a team to the championship, which is more akin to what KG did. And KG has immersed himself in the Celtics now. You always had the feeling Malone was just flying in to LA

I totally agree. LA ended up being a hiccup in his career. Although, there's a chance they might have pulled it together if he hadn't been injured in the Finals. All we can really do is speculate, but at least he retired as a Jazzman, whether it was a 1 day contract or not. :P
