  1. Since we're discussing Oregon uniforms in an "unpopular opinions" thread:

    MaehlreadyvsCal09_display_image.jpg?1283192286

I think this is by far their best look ever. As in, this uniform is miles and miles better than any of the "modern" stuff they wear now.

I have a feeling that'll be an unpopular opinion on these boards.

I agree with you. The more "innovative" they try to get, the worse they look.

  2. 50-year old Roger Clemens' debut with the Atlantic League's Sugarland Skeeters:

    3 and 1/3 innings, 0 runs, 1 hit, 0 walks, 2 strikeouts.

25 of 37 pitches were strikes and he hit 88 MPH. Manager Gary Gaetti said he believes Roger was holding back from throwing harder because he had soreness in his leg, which he iced after coming out of the game. Scouts for the Astros and KC Royals were at the game.

He's making his second start on September 7 vs. the Long Island Ducks.

  3. Roger Clemens signed with the Sugarland Skeeters yesterday. Age 50, fastball still clocked at 87 MPH.

    VERY interesting:

When Clemens joins the Skeeters, he will join a club managed by former Minnesota Twins great Gary Gaetti, and a rotation littered with ex-pros; Jason Lane, Tim Redding and Scott Kazmir.

The Blue Jays will do anything to start "WINNING" again.

    So who is it?

    Please tell me you're joking.

Some of us don't worship the scum of Hollywood. Looks like life has been rough on him, he looks 65 years old there.

    Joe Carter was obvious!

  5. The only reason the Giants looked bad in red jerseys is because, well, they are "Big Blue", so wearing red never made any sense.

If they were ever going to wear alts, they should've gone the throwback route. As it is, the Giants really don't need alts.

No, Kentucky basketball is (the real) Big Blue.

  6. wow_WTF.jpg

Simply put, wow! There is no word that can state how pathetic this is.

Really? Of all the awful counterfeits out there, you choose that one?

If I saw that on the street, I would not be able to tell the difference. I know there are some awful counterfeits out there, but that isn't one of them. What are some things wrong with it? Because I honestly can't tell. It looks good.

It seems like the worst thing in that photo is actually the lighting and/or the picture quality. I think that is throwing everything off.

Replace the Swoosh with whatever Reebok calls their logo and you MIGHT have a case. :D

  7. Despite the rings, to me, his "right" uniform is Orlando. He became famous in that one (though we could say his backboard-breaking in LSU duds put him on the map). We really got to know him in Orlando. He had some success in his 4 years there, making the Finals with a team that has a losing history before and ever since. He was on a better team in LA, but his numbers and games played per year were down after he left the Magic. He was most dominant in black and blue, especially on defense and the boards.

  8. How does that differ from Nike's offshore factories or 90% of the Chinese crap we buy from local srores every day?

I am asking if anyone ever ordered a custom from this source, not to start a morals debate.

Your are going to get a crap jersey.

Please post the picture of the one you got from them.

Sidestepping the morality of the issue, many of the members here who admit to buying counterfeits have said you should only buy them in person, where you can see the quality for yourself. Never buy online.

Finally a constructive reply with good advice. Thanks.

Never bought a "knock-off" before and am just tossing the idea around.

  9. Actually thinking of picking up a CUSTOM jersey from China.

Has anyone ever used this site? www.online-jersyes.org

I chatted with a rep and she said the numbers and name will be sewn on, not screen printed. With the custom part, I'm just wondering how accurate the numbers will be.

Actually my main concern is the name I'm getting on it...specifically the roman numerals' spacing:

    GRIFFIN III

If the numbers look like those on the example, the #10 will look fine. No, I don't mind that it's a Reebok jersey that RGIII will never wear.

I want his jersey but don't want to spend $100+ on a rookie's jersey. A lot of people regret their Heath Shuler jerseys. :D

(RGIII won't be a bust, just being extra safe though, plus I have kids to buy stuff for, I don't spend much on myself)

  10. randy-johnson-giants.jpg

when did he play for the giants? i don't seem to recall his stint with the giants.

Not sure if you are being serious, but he did win his 300th game as a Giant.

I remember him as a Giant, but not an Astro.

I think he looks out of place in anything but Seattle duds, but just think what if...Montreal kept him and all of the other stars they traded away. They might still have a team with a ton of WS trophies. They grew and shipped out so many great players.
