I hate the Kings new look. All they needed to do was remove the Los Angeles from the bottom of there old jerseys and place the pencil logo as the shoulder patch with the purple crown. I also hate Rangers and Nationals not able to make up there mind about what colour team they are. Are they a mainly RED or BLUE team? MAKE UP YOUR MINDS, !

I know it's weird, but what did Abbot do when he had to swing the bat? Any videos around? Did he always try to bunt for a hit?

From a technical stanpoint, Abbot held the bat in his left hand in a traditional batting stance while balancing the upper part of the handle of the bat over his right wrist. It was similar to the way Kevin Youklis sets up with the bat where he's not actually holding the bat with his top hand, but instead letting the barrel rest on the thumb of his open hand. As he went into his swing, he would keep the handle supported on his right wrist while tucking in his lead elbow, putting a lot of "body" into the swing. It was basically a very sound swing.

On another note, Abbot was also an accomplished bunter. In fact, I actually have one of his baseball cards where the picture is of him bunting and not pitching for the Angels.

The ball-in-glove is a fantastic logo, but the current Brewers identity is much more fitting for the name.

For the sake of curiosity, is it the angle of the picture or is he missing his right hand? If so, does he bat with a prosthetic and how effective is that for him? I have always been amazed by those that compete with them. I was at a Dunhams sports a few weeks back and met an Iraq War veteran that lost both legs just above the knee and both arms above the elbow and he was fitted with the blade prosthetic (the upside down question mark) for a marathon he was competing for. Just wondering.

He is. He doesn't wear a prosthetic for softball; he bats one-handed and transfers his glove off his hand to throw the ball. I don't know if he has one he uses elsewise, but I've never seen him with one. He's a pretty good player for our level.

This thread got me thinking, what is Ray Allen's "right" jersey? Or are all of them right for Ray, who spent his first 7 seasons in Milwaukee, 5 in Seattle, and is currently in his 5th season in Boston

Ray Allen is a rather strange case for me, because at some point I got used to him in each uniform. If I had to choose one that was more "right" to me, though, it'd be the Bucks for purely nostalgic reasons. I know he won a title in Boston, but his time as a Buck spanned the time I paid the most attention to basketball (which I guess is why Nash in a Mavs uni isn't that weird to me, either). The most "wrong" Allen uniform to me would be the Sonics, but even that isn't too strange a sight to me.

Seeing Allen not in green is his wrong jersey.

I think you misunderstand how POTD works...

the Kill.It.With.Fire. part is POTD in my Opinion. it is the best joke i have heard in a long time as this jersey is downright offensive . wayne would be embarrassed to see a fan wear that jersey. its ugly and a discrace to the great one.

i agree 100%. the striping was great and even the mustard had a good feeling to it. i have a kids Nashville mustard jersey from when the Predators came to leafs town (my uncle and i have a tradition to buy a new sweater when we go to a game).

what the kings should do: use these again, drop the lettering at the bottom and take the pencil logo and place it on the shoulders. for an alternate, look at your 90's or 70's jerseys for inspiration.
