I'm sure that we all have read into the very popular counterfeit jerseys thread, but I want to expand on a specific topic here today. I noticed that a lot of people have DEFENDED the practice of counterfeit jerseys in the thread, and that alarms me. First and foremost, I will be one of the first to admit, the prices that Nike or Reebok or Majestic are currently commanding for their products is pretty nuts. But you can't go and support these shoddy businesses. But I won't even get into the labor practices, we need to have a talk about IP theft. I am honestly shocked that a forum full of designers would have people that would actually defend IP theft. We need to protect designer's IP and not buy counterfeits, no matter the price. Don't say that you can't afford the real ones, because if that is the case, you shouldn't be buying these products, not supporting law-infringing businesses. Just wondering what the rest of the board has to say on this topic.

I can't even describe how bad this one is

While I agree that Nike and Reebok prices are crazy, I could never bring myself to buy a counterfeit product due to the fact that I am helping shoddy businesses and infringing on somebody's hard work of designing the product.
