Literally same helmet color, facemask color, logo fill & outline, number fill & outline, with a 3-stripe pattern on the pant in inverted colors, and similar, although not the same, sleeve stripes.

But sure, pal - nothing like the Bears.

    God, your arrogance is astounding.

Thanks for the chuckle. This is undoubtedly and unironically the goofiest thing you’ve ever said on here

While the Birmingham Bears' "ursine figure, racing his way to the endzone, ball in hand" is wonderfully executed, he reminds me of a certain prospector who already "'rushes' towards pay dirt, football in hand" on another AAFL helmet.

Further, that nod of the houndstooth fedora and the Bears nickname may prove irresistible to fans of a college football program in Tuscaloosa, but it is going to alienate an equally large swath of supporters who shout, "War Eagle!" on the Plains come Saturdays each Fall. I don't see any way that an astute pro sports franchise would willfully write-off so many potential customers before the team had even taken the field.

Besides, what's not to love about a terrific modern update of a classic alternative football identity?

    I have to go with...

Forged in Flame, Steeled for Success: Birmingham Vulcans Football!

When the Bears and Rush play one another, the orientation of the logos on the helmet would resemble both team’s namesakes running towards each other, ready to clash.

    Silverbacks.

Funnily enough I have a team in my personal concept soccer league called the Cincinnati Silverbacks after the indoor soccer team from the early 2000s.

Was your team created circa post-May 28 2016?

    Asking for a friend.

Dumb, pedantic question: Do people in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area commonly refer to it as Tidewater? I know there was a Tidewater Tides affiliate of the Mets years ago that is now the Norfolk Tides. But that's really the only wide reference to that term i can recall.

The failed bid at an NHL team in the '90s went by Hampton Roads Rhinos. The ABA team in the region went by Virginia Squires.

Call it what you want, of course. Just throwing that labeling out there for discussion. (Not that it looks like it matters. Still way behind in the voting.)

I do recall the Sacramento Kings threatening to relocate to Norfolk about a decade ago.

Updated vote count with 43 votes in the books:

    8   Birmingham

6   San Antonio, Columbus, and Memphis

    4   Texas, Tucson, Hartford

    3   Louisville

    2   Austin & Tidewater

Looking good for B'Ham, but if 2 of the clubs in the 6 group go on a run, they can still get bumped.   When we hit 6pm tonight, any city that is more than 4 votes behind will be removed and those who voted for them can put in a vote for one of the remaining cities.  Looking at you Loo-uh-vuhl,  Austin and Tidewater.  You have 8 hours to get some votes.  I wonder if Austin votes would go to San Antonio or to the combined SAN/AUS team in San Marcos?

What happens in the event of the 3-way tie?

If SA, Columbus, and Memphis all end up with the same number of votes? Do we get a mega expansion?

That's true, but I wasn't expecting it to carry over to a new team and manufacturer, especially since it was just a recoloring in the first place.

Albeit the same manufacturer, Kevin Harvick’s Budweiser scheme stayed the same when he moved to SHR from RCR
