I think at that point I'dve hauled ass. I own four Super Bowl rings in total - all bought off of players or front office staff. They're cool, but wearing one in public is equivalent to having a spotlight on you, attracting attention you don't necessarily want.

Anyone know/have the font used by the New York Jets? I've always suspected it was custom, but on the other hand know it's been "out there" for decades, so I wonder if I could get my hands on it.

I'm having a font-related issue that perhaps someone can help me with. It's not an issue of identification but rather installation. Specifically, when I'm trying to install certain OTF fonts onto my new laptop (pulling them from either one of my older systems or via FTP), during installation an error message pops up telling me that the file(s) in question have been damaged, -or- alternately, the installation goes fine but the actual font file disappears into the aether. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Well, they varied. The 49ers ring was the most costly at $18K... The Raiders rings were each in the $10-15K range. Those prices have held pretty firm except for the newer championship rings, which have far more precious stones and have considerably more gold.

Nah. My collection consists of four: one of each of the Raiders rings, plus a 49'ers one from SB XXIII. There are some I'd like, but have thus far been unable to find in good enough condition to warrant the expense. And here I had visions of you hanging outside the arenas and stadiums on ring presentation day, waiting for the lowest-paid guy on the team to exit, and you making one hell of a lowball offer. Nah, actually you wait until they've been retired a few years and come to the realization that their $60K sales job isn't going to make much of a dent on their two million house mortgage...
