random thing: my brain's been so conditioned to Tampa ''Bay'' didn't even realize at first that the Vipers are just Tampa

So the Desperados use one of the Oilers main colors and the Roughnecks use a lawyer friendly version of the Oilers logo..i have a feeling they wanted to bring back the Oilers identity but they couldn't because of the obvious legal dispute

I wish Colorado would revive the powder blue as a one-off. I know that it's associated with some of the worst Colorado football teams, but it's a good look that incorporates the school colors of gold and silver. A metallic gold on the jersey would be necessary, should it be revived.
I wanna make sweet love with that Facemask

The QB of the Bears' lone Super Bowl champion, and in many ways the man who personified that team's attitude, played for the hated-rival Packers. That, my friend, is the definition of a player in the wrong uniform.
Fair.

Well, he DID win a Superbowl sitting on their bench, no? That made him the first QB to win the Superbowl with two teams long before Peyton did (though Peyton actually started for both teams)
Jim's stint with the Eagles, however, was rather short and unremarkable.
(his only RIGHT team is Chicago of course)

FlyEaglesFly76, Nice idea on your Pro Football Alignment if the South has won the Civil War, here's my added idea on your Last Post
The Winner of the Lee Cup (from the SFA) takes on The Winner of the NFL Championship for the Super Bowl or the Civil War Bowl to see who will be the World Champion of Pro Football will be, it will be nice if we can have a Grey Cup Team from Canadian Football League participate in the Super Bowl on your last post when the South won the Civil War.
The CFL game is much too different to ever a make workable ruleset for a CFL-NFL/SFA Superbowl, but a SFA/NFL World Championship Game is neat idea.
Also, I'm a fan of your alignment ideas, even if they tend to get..Big. They're actually pretty interesting.

Here's a little something for all you alternate history-enthusiasts out there: Pro Football in a world where the South won the Civil War.
The NFL is still formed in this time line, but soon after, a rival league called the Southern Football Association (SFA) is formed in the Confederacy. The NFL believed it didn't have a chance to compete with the king that was College Football in the south, but to their surprise, the SFA thrived. The AFL is never formed because of two leagues already competing, and those owners get their teams.
Also, after losing the Civil War, the Union moved the capital to New York, and the South took D.C as their own. As a result, the Redskins can't move to Washington, and stay in Boston. No other teams can move from a Union city to a Confederate city.
NFL:
CAPITAL:
Philadelphia Eagles
New York Giants
New York Titans/Jets
Boston Redskins
Providence Patriots
Buffalo Bills
Pittsburgh Steelers
Baltimore Ravens (The Browns Fiasco still occurs)
CENTRAL:
Cleveland Browns
Cincinnati Bengals
Indianapolis Colts (Formerly Baltimore Colts)
Detroit Lions
Chicago Bears
Chicago Cardinals
Green Bay Packers
Minnesota Vikings
COASTAL:
Denver Broncos
Oakland Raiders
Los Angeles Chargers (Formerly San Diego Chargers)(sorry)
Los Angeles Rams
San Francisco 49ers
Seattle Seahawks
Portland Sasquatches
Utah Stingers
Top team in each division makes playoffs, along with three wildcards. First and Second seeded teams get byes, Third seed faces Sixth, and Fourth faces Sixth. Worst surviving seed faces #1, the other faces #2. Winners of those face off in the Championship.
SFA
UNITED CONFERENCE:
Virginia Generals
Washington Monuments
Atlanta Falcons
Charlotte Panthers
Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks
Miami Dolphins
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jacksonville Jaguars
Louisville Thoroughbreds
Nashville Titans (formerly Houston Oilers)
WORLD CONFERENCE:
New Orleans Saints
Memphis Hound Dogs
Dallas Cowboys
Houston Texans
San Antonio Gunslingers
Kansas City Chiefs (formerly Dallas Texans)
St. Louis Pilots
Oklahoma Twisters
Phoenix Rattlers
New Mexico Invaders
The SFA does it old school, with the top teams of each conference automatically going to the Lee Cup, without a playoff. This is unpopular, with many calling to change it.

Y'know you had it rough when your right team is an XFL team..

Not sure if this has been posted yet and i'm not going through 274 pages to find out, but, Warren Moon, famous Oiler as a Viking.
There are plenty a QB who have gone to the Vikings in the twilight of their career.
Also, Warren as a Seahawk.

Here's a new little side project I've been working on.. (Read: Made up 2 hours ago) The 50 team NFL, which basically I predict the future of the NFL in a universe where they grow to 50 teams by the end of the century, and maybe add in some wild predictions about the future of the world while i'm at it. I might do one for the MLB/NBA/NHL some time. Apologies for length.
(Disclaimer, this entirely for fun and is in no way supposed to be serious)

I was actually just joking- I want the Rays and and the A's to get stadiums and stay where they are,
as for expansion, Montreal probably needs a ballpark first, because Olympique stadium might seriously out :censored:hole Tropicana
-
I have an idea: Put their new stadium in Montreal, and rename them the Expos!
You finally get out of the only Ballpark that out :censored:holes Oakland's, AND you get infinity more fans!

Fine. Geographically Houston fits better in the South division and Kansas City in the West.
You know what? Just because of that condescending ''fine'' i'm not changing it,

Swap Houston and KC. That AFC West is about as traditional as the NFC North. You can budge.
Normally I would agree, but this alignment is about Geography, not history.
-
Just for :censored:s and giggles, here's what I think the NFL would look like if they gave a :censored: about geography
NFC East: NYG, Washington, Philadelphia, Carolina
NFC South: Atlanta, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Dallas
NFC North: Chicago, Green Bay, Detroit, Minnesota
NFC West: Los Angeles, Arizona, Seattle, San Francisco
AFC East: New England, Buffalo, NYJ, Baltimore
AFC South: Jacksonville, Tennessee, Kansas City, Miami
AFC North: Pittsburgh. Cincinnati, Cleveland, Indianapolis
AFC West: Denver, Oakland, San Diego, Houston
How'd I do?
-
I'm not splitting up Saints and Falcons, period.
-
Eagles: Grew up in and live in Pennsylvania. I decided I don't like Pittsburgh. That was that.
Phillies: See above.
Penn State: The Particular part of PA i'm from is central. Just a county over from State Collage. Natural Fandom.

Hi, i'm new here, just joined.. Couldn't find an introduction thread so this is my first post.
Anyway, this is a hypothetical expansion to 36 teams in the NFL. Not too accurate to geography, but that wasn't my goal. I kept the Expansion teams inside of the US, I don't think any possible international city is viable for an NFL team.
* - Expansion team.
AFC West.

I tried to keep most of the Big rivals together. Baltimore and Pittsburgh got split up, but if you guys want I can swap the Ravens and the Titans, but that breaks up Tennessee and Jacksonville.
What do you think? Good? Bad? Godawful garbage?

Alternate History NFL scenario where the U.S went full-on Manifest Destiny at some point in the past and ate Canada. Alternatively, alternate history where Canada joined them during the Revolution. Basically, what the NFL would look like if the U.S and Canada were one in the same.

Unfortunately a lot of historical CFL teams are left out because of limited spots. obviously not going to include a team as far north as Canada in the south divisions, so two new teams in Birmingham and San Antonio are included for balance. For fun, they're named after defunct CFL teams from our timeline. The Oilers are the Oilers and not the Texans for the sake of San Antonio having that name. B.C has a different name because of Detroit.
