    1) you never had to look at it since it was never worn.

    2) no you wouldn't have.

I seen what they look at online. They just look bad to me. I guess a better example would be the LA Kings third jersey from 95 to 96 since that was worn.

Also, yeah, I would actually. I like the AHL actually. I'm weird but I used to grew up watching the Houston Aeros on Fox Sports Southwest.

  2. MLB: New York Yankees (Deal with it)

NFL: Los Angeles Rams (Was a fan of St. Louis Rams growing up..)

NHL: St. Louis Blues (Switch from Blues from the NY Rangers. Growing up it was the Mighty Ducks)

NBA: LA Clippers (Never had a true favorite but I like the underdogs so I go with the Clippers)

MLS: Toronto FC (A tossup between them or Seattle but I like Toronto a bit more)

    NLL: Toronto Rock (Let's Rock!)

MLL: Stopped supporting this league years ago but used to like the Boston Cannons

Arena Football: Milwaukee Mustangs (I have their helmet as my profile pic)

CFL: Ottawa RedBlacks (Missed the Renegades but this team is better in every way)

Australian Rules: Western Bulldogs (Love the team song)

Rugby Union: SupeRugby- Highlanders, English Premiership- London Irish and Harlequins, Pro14- Newport Dragons, MLR- Seattle Seawolves

Soccer: EPL- Arsenals, A-League- Western Sydney Wanderers, J1 League- Kashima Antlers

    Honorable Defunct Teams:

Hockey- Hartford Whalers and IHL/AHL Houston Aeros

    Basketball: Seattle SuperSonics

Football: St. Louis Rams and the USFL Houston Gamblers

    Baseball: Montreal Expos

I don't miss the NFL blackout policy.

Agree. I hate Sports Blackout Policies in general.

Also like to add: I don't miss The Tennessee Oilers. Sounds horribly wrong to me.

Dual-Use Stadiums. I never should think one stadium should be used for everything. Especially MLB and NFL dual use stadiums like Three Rivers Stadium or Astrodome. Still need to get rid of the Alamodome, despite not holding and MLB or NFL team, the stadium looks bad. Also hate it when MLS teams used NFL stadiums. Giants Stadiums or RFK Stadium should never be used for soccer and that is final.

Also don't miss the first wave of third jerseys in the NHL. St Louis Blues Jazz Jersey is a nightmare to look at. If i had to wear it for my team I would be asked to be sent to another team or go to the AHL instead. I also hate the Buffalo Sabers Jerseys of the Late 2000's as well. Weird thing is that i love the prior one before it.

  4. Okay, I just thought of this awhile back. But I was considering something about School and University that need a name change or team nickname and fast. For me I have two schools and a university that need to update their image.

For starter, my old High School, Douglass ISD and Jacksonville ISD (both based in East Texas) are nicknamed the Indians and I find it confusing and dumb. I never like the nickname and always called Douglass another team name like the Eagles or the Lions. As for Jacksonville, the city is known for their tomato festival. I never went to school in Jacksonville but I would rename them the Kings or something.

As for the University. I like Stephan F. Austin Lumberjack Basketball team and their team name is fitting for the school. But I do not respect the name of the school since Austin promoted slavery. I actually like to see them rename the college but keep the Lumberjack name. (Sidenote, I would also drop the Ladyjacks nickname and rename them the Lumberjills instead.)

What schools you guys been to and needed a new school name or team name.

Honorable Mention: Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas needs to be renamed as well.

    - Cubs on WGN (Harry Carey & Steve Stone.  Even Chip Carey was tolerable)

    - White Sox also on WGN (Ken Hawk Harrison and Tom Patorick)

    - Braves on TBS Superstation

    - This Week in Baseball with Mel Allen

    - The Astros as an American League team (Still can't get used to that even though they won a World Series as an AL team.  Strangely, I'm now used to the Brewers as an NL team even though I still remember them as an American League team)

    - Montreal Expos

    - The Angels as either the CALIFORNIA Angels or ANAHEIM Angels.

    - MLB logos on the outfield wall in some of the stations instead of ads.

    - Late 90s-to-mid-2000s MLB: Yankees dynasty, Braves in the playoffs all the time, Bonds/Sosa/McGwire home run chase (feel dirty about that one because of the steroids)

    - NBA on NBC (Marv Albert, Inside Stuff hosted by Ahmad Rashad, and the theme song by John Test)

    - Bulls 90s dynasty (MJ, Scottie, Phil Jackson, etc); also the rivalries with the Pistons, Cavs, Pacers, Knicks, Magic, etc were worth watching. I also miss Johnny Red Kerr and Wayne Larrivee, plus Norm Van Leer)

    - Monday Night Football on ABC (Frank Gifford, Al Michaels, Dan Diedorf as I wasn't alive when Howard Cosell and Don Meredith were around. Also Hank Williams Jr. "Are You Ready For Some Football")

    - Pat Summerall and John Madden announcing NFL games on CBS and later Fox

    - Super Bowl being played a week after the Conference Championship games instead of two weeks after (meaning that the game was played in late January instead of early Feburary)

    - Solider Field before a spaceship landed on it. (I'm talking about the stadium's renovation after the 2001 season)

    - NFC teams dominating the NFL (80s 49ers, 90s Cowboys, etc)

    - Houston Oilers

    - Chargers in San Diego; Radiers in either Oakland or Los Angeles

    - Baseball/Football/Basketball cards

    - MLB on Fox having its own unique theme instead of having the NFL on Fox theme

    - College Football/Basketball before the birth of super-conferences (i.e. the Big Ten actually having 10 teams + Penn State)

    - Seattle Supersonics

    - Nets in New Jersey

    - NBA teams wearing white (or gold in the Lakers' case) at home; road team in the dark colors.  No association/statement mix and match jersey crap.

    - Hartford Whalers & Quebec Noridiques

    - Anaheim Ducks as the MIGHTY Ducks

    - GOOD uniforms being worn at the Pro Bowl & NBA all-star game; also the Pro Bowl being played AFTER the Super Bowl

    - Sports commissioners that are actually competent! (You know it's bad when Gary Bettman is now considered the BEST commissioner among the Big 4 Leagues)  I miss Paul Tagliabue, the late David Stern, and even Bud Selig.

    - ESPN doing sports and entertainment, talk, & news that's actually related to sports.

    - No politics on ESPN, NBA, NFL, etc (I watched sports to get away from that stuff!)

I would love this, especially since me and my friends have been doing this ourselves for our high school and another local one for the past week, (We’re the Indians they’re the Rebels). If there would be some ground rules I think it could work.

Well I will start a topic on this idea. But idk where to post it? Should it count as a concept or what?

I miss the old college football theme for ESPN as well. It was a timeless theme.

I also miss the old ND on NBC theme from the late 1990s to mid 2000s. I loved it, it fits with the team and I also miss the NFL on NBC theme from the 1990s. Classic themes.

NBC had some great theme songs for their sports broadcast back then.

  8. Two things I missed:

    1. When ESPN aired NHL games. Growing up I used to worship hockey like nothing else and ESPN was where I used to watch games.

    2. I also miss AFL on TNN when I was young.

    Honorable mentions:

Remember when ESPNews was just about sports news and nothing else. Pepperidge Farm remembers..

Also anyone remember when Stump the Schwab on ESPN. I used to watch the show with my grandparents growing up.

I don't want to politicize this, but is there a chance that in this current racial climate that this is all for naught and the entire university gets renamed?

    From Wikipedia:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_F._Austin

I remember hearing about it a decade ago back in school. I remember my entire 7th grade class history course was about Texas history.

As someone who stays neutral to most things (I think I'm part Switzerland). I am in support of Black Lives Matters.

And I do agree that a name change is in order for SFA. Though a new name might take time for the university unlike a name change for a school team. I like to see them adopt something unique but I doubt it. Maybe there can be a topic where we can come up with new names for university and colleges that need new names? Don't know if anyone's done that yet.

Hope I don't get in trouble for voicing my opinion. I rarely do so unless stated otherwise.

  10. As a SFA Lumberjack Basketball fan. I'm glad they did this. I did look at the last time they tried updating the logo and I still feel it look generic and half***.

Here some creativity was shown atleast. I like the secondary logo though but it looks they they really wanted to hammer the lone star imagery.

Looks good. This is more of just  random question but wouldn't LumberJills make more sense than LadyJacks?

As someone who grew up in East Texas, im still puzzled why they're not called the LumberJills. I think it sounds better anyways.

Speaking of unused logos with a husky in them, the QMJHL's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies were originally the Rouyn-Noranda Blizzards for a couple of months but changed the name shortly before the team's first season (a college elsewhere in the province was using the name and raised a fuss). https://ici.radio-canada.ca/nouvelle/744493/huskies-blizzards-hockey-lhjmq-20e-rouyn-noranda

Wow.. that creepy. That "thing" looked like it came from a low budget horror movie from the 1980's.

  12. Does the Patriots winning the Super Bowl count? If so then yes.

More importantly the Patriots vs Falcons Super Bowl Match few years back.. Seriously can't get over how the Falcons botch it. Same with the Rams last year. If they make the Super Bowl again and win, I probably snap..

Runners up choice: SFA losing most of the time in the March Madness.. That's annoys me to be honest.

I knew this would happen. Honestly the players would have to travel more to play games for a team who isn't giving a care for the players.

This idea of splitting a team home games up to two places isn't great to begin with. But to have them play in Canada isn't a good idea also. It feels rush as heck.
