  1. San Diego reveal their new jerseys for 2022

Love the "Tequila Sunrise" stripes on the front, dig the much more accurate/vibrant colors on the home jersey.
Interesting remark on the away regarding the (street) pattern, too light and you can't see it unless up close, too dark and it looks dirty from afar.

their logo and frankly name still sucks tough.
Their SD monogram - which is already on their logo (could also double for the sun and a ball) is so much better than the loyal word mark.
There is such an easy fix, if they just would remove the loyal word mark from the logo.
added bonus: it also would be much more usable as a logo application from very large to very small

  2. the LA Galaxy II is called "Los Dos" locally, even tough the have a bog standard logo with a 2 forced into it.

So mostly it's not just the names that are uninspiring, but also the cookie cutter (slight tweak to the MLS team with a 2 or II added)

As many MLS 2 sides will go to MLS Next Pro or whatever, USL will have less and less of those  "2" teams.

  3. the Orlando sunshine  design is my favorite 2022 MLS jersey so far. 🤩

And I’m not even a fan of purple nor the team.

Obviously the overall effect works better with purple (team) shorts than other colored jeans

  4. I don't think the fans have a reason to be anxious regarding the Sounders name.

I think the club ownership got and won't forget the memo with the write in campaign during their MLS ramp up.

I always disliked their current MLS crest because of the multiple shapes (the green part, the blue part, the name banner) being squashed into one big thing.

Thus I'm looking forward to what I think will be a brand refresh (new logo(s) + color tweaks)

Very interesting regarding the space needle license-thing.

If that's not an feasible option going forward here's some ideas regarding iconography, colors and such:

    ocean/water (blues)

    forests/nature (greens)

    snow cowered Vulcan/mountains (white)

a secondary S-logo (for Seattle and Sounders, though not SS because of bad historic links of said abbreviation)

I like these concepts from post above

    maxresdefault.jpg

Less is more, simplified colors and shapes.

I think it's a bit busy with the water wave-lines, FC + year in between swell the lines besides Seattle, but a excellent starting point IMO.

Looks like Vancouver is going to go with an inverse version of their home kit for the away as expected. Hopefully this means the hoop will be our design going forward though I'd love us to start releasing third kits that could feature other designs apart from the hoop; feel like Vancouver can play with a lot of different natural elements like they've done before, hopefully more about the mountain side of the name as we've focused quite a bit on water/rain in the past.

    RE: Vancouver Whitecaps

I assume the rumored chest stripe has the same design as the sleeve cuff seen here.

Basically a reverse of the primary/home.

    as for NYCFC:

I like the pattern/design with the fading „lightning bolt“ even though it reminds me of Power Rangers 😂

but the purple and shade of orange color combo is not comfortable to look at for me. The balance seems off overall.

Portland, it seems, routinely comes closest to having bespoke kits as you can get in MLS, which I suspect has a lot to do with Adidas' North American soccer division located at its U.S. HQ in Portland.

I think you have a valid point with that assumption.

  7. Seattle Sounders

better than I expected thanks to the non rigid checkered pattern.

    Portland Timbers

    dislike it.

Looks like a shirt that was lost in the attic for decades, thus white turned grey/dusty/dirty.

After all the teasing I excepted something more as their Rose City one a few years ago was (white with red roses)

    Colorado Rapids

so jealous of their sponsor less design!

the mountain details will be hard to see, but are a nice touch. Would have been cool to see a mock up where the ice shades/rivers had the the baby blue treatment)

    NY RedBulls

not a fan of the white bulls in Japan logo, the design is ok, thanks to the non rigid wheathered checkerred pattern.

Wonder how it would look with the darker squares having a bit of black infused into the red (MetroStars colors)

New England Revoultion: Like that they return to all blue (jersey, shorts, socks), expected more after the logo refresh (a red sash or something inspired by the musketeer canon guys behind the goal, the logo still feels weird ("not permitted red circle" going trough the R)

Austin: a former Austin Verde shirt that stayed out in the sun too long. lol at Atlanta

LA Galaxy: miss the sash, but difficult to pull off well anyway with a front sponsor, too many quasars on the collar, a centered one at the V would have been fine.

That’s the point of sponsorship. It there to be seen and for people to buy their product.

the sponsors name could also be CreamSoda or dont care and the eye-distracting effect would be the same...

Maybe you get my point of view this way ;)

I don’t understand this. They’re a sponsor so they have their name of the car. It no different than any other. They Atleast don’t force the team to change their color scheme by adding colors that clash with it.

the point I was trying to make:

Compared to the other sponsors on the side of the car that VELO sponsorship is  eye-catching because it's about 3-4x larger and pops much more on the orange - thus at least for me it takes away focus from the car livery overall.

Hopefully it's less distracting while in motion during TV/streaming

  10. the unfortunately eye-catching bold "VELO" (apparently a Tobacco sponsorship of somekind) takes away a lot from a good livery.

the E-Sports McLaren one with the black, neon orange and neon baby blue would be absolutely epic in night races though.

    I love the updated orange!

A good overall look — except, as you mentioned, for the loss of the box for CBS Sports. The look is clean and modern, while still being strong and respectable.

One place where these new logos will not be seen (or will not be seen for long) is the CBS All Access streaming service. I was very saddened to read that CBS All Access will be changing its name to Paramount+. For a streaming service to abandon one of the greatest names in television for a name more closely associated with movies seems like a bad move.

Anyway, this is definitely an upgrade.

But what's this about a jingle?

logo wise the update is cohesive, not that I ever will see it since we don't have CBS over here.

Paramount+ is already a thing internationally (it's also right at home with Disney+ and AppleTV+ streaming services)

Most people outside North America don't know CBS or the Eye, while the imagery of the "Paramount" mountain and stars is well known, even if it's primary from movies.

  14. Some wonderful concepts and creations. Thanks for sharing.

There are my favorites so far.

Miami Suns (awesome logo and colors)

Mexico City Stingrays (awesome logo & colors)

    Quebec Nordic Lights (awesome logo)

LA Waves (awesome logo & colors) the 1st one.

    Las Vegas Venom (iconography)

Carolina Aviators (awesome name & logo)

Houston Voyagers (awesome name & logo)
