Well, consider that last wave wasn't revealed until November, midway through the season. They could do that again.

Those were still released before the season started in January. Hopefully we see something once September rolls around, but I could see them waiting until around the holidays.

The Braves are doing another replica ring giveaway tonight so they busted out the gold trimmed caps and jerseys again. I believe they are wearing their regular helmets instead of the one that had the gold “A.” No pics yet but here’s a video.

Did it to rub the Phillies nose in it a little. How’d that work out for them?

That's a great word choice, BBTV.  There's nothing wrong with being saddened by news like this and taking a moment to note that we're losing something intangible without slipping into extremes at either ends. This won't "ruin the game" or make me less of a fan, but I do value aesthetics more than most other fans and this endless endeavor to monetize every :censored:ing aspect of a sport I love so already wealthy owners can be even more rich just flat-out sucks.

Nothing is untouchable and everything has a price and this is the way the world works and it bums me out.

On a semi-relevant sidebar, there's been a subtle belief that has crept into the public over the last few decades with taxpayer-funded stadiums and  CBA lockouts that owning a professional sports team is supposed to be a profitable endeavor.  If you're wealthy enough to own a sports team, the benefit to ownership should be in the joy and perks of owning the team, just like the joy of having your name on a building at your alma mater, having a fleet Lamborghinis in your garage, or owning a villa in Ibiza would be. But like all of these things, owning a professional team should be treated like owning a very expensive toy, not like owning a very expensive business.

No one is forcing owners to carry these expensive burdens and there are plenty of other rich people who would love have these toys that they could sell for wild profits, so I need owners to stop crying poor at every convenient turn. Thanks in advance.

Posts like these are the worst.

Everyone is entitled to feel however they want to. If you want to complain about it, great! This is probably one of the best places to do that because you're probably talking to someone else who cares.  If you're personally unaffected, that's also awesome; you'll take every bit of this and future news in stride and never miss a beat! But you can also do that without demanding that the people who are bothered shouldn't be for *reasons*

You can be a grim, cynical realist without being a condescending :censored: to everyone who isn't.

I’m not being condescending to anyone. I’m simply pointing out that stuff like this is going to happen no matter what we all think of it. We don’t make the rules, and the reality is we make up a VERY small percentage of the population. It’s not being “grim”, either. I get annoyed at people like the original 1 or 2 posters that blame people like me for this happening. Lol. It is no “fault” of any fan. Breaking, News at 11: Business Finds A New Way To Make Money. Tale as old as time. Oh, this isn’t being a “bootlicker” either. Some of you should look up the definition. Pointing out realities doesn’t automatically equal support.

Lmao if you're gonna rush to a sports aesthetic forum to flame the users for not liking ad creep you should get some better material than the same old "MUH LOST FUNDS" we always hear. Maybe you would have a better time feeling morally superior in your defense of billionaires on sites such as reddit or twitter.

Maybe reading comprehension is difficult, so I’ll explain again. I’m not “flaming” anyone for not liking an ad creep. I don’t like the ad creep either.  But to blame posters on this board and other people on the internet for this is some real galaxy brain stuff. Also, billionaires don’t bother me, and I really don’t care what anyone thinks about it.

Yeah no amount of protest ever changed anything right? All I have to say is, just cause you want to bend over and accept everything including blatant greed disgracing the sanctity of sports uniforms, then maybe you're on the wrong forum. Also, keep the name calling to a minimum there, bud

Yes I am SHOCKED that the masses are not rushing to the streets to protest…(checks notes)…ads on NHL jerseys. Also the people who are complaining about this were probably the most pro-lockdown people over the last year+, so guess what? That lost money has to be made up somehow. Welcome to the real world, bud.

  6. I love the morons on here blaming other posters and fans for this. “It’s all YOUR fault!” Lmao. Get over yourselves. This is being done because it makes the league and its teams more money. Period. Whether we all like or it not, whether we all pushed back or not, none of it matters. The fact is that it’s an untapped revenue source. No amount of bitching on a message board or twitter was ever going to change that.

While the Coyotes' draft hat makes me doubt that anything but a black and white Kachina set will be worn in the fall, I like the sound of this.

I can’t tell if this means they’ll have new uniforms/logos/colors for the upcoming season. Maybe the black and white kachina set for the next few years while they came up with a more modern version of it. Also, where does it say that the reverse retros won’t be used at all league wide next year?

  8. Ultimately, you could theoretically have what would amount to a 16 team super playoff. 2 divisions of 8 teams each for each of the 4 conferences. At the end of the season, you have the top 2 teams in each division play each other, then the winner of those games play in your conference championship game, which does exist in some conferences now. Then, you take all of the conference champions and put them up against each other in a national semifinal, with the winners the meeting in the national championship game.
