Idk if you did serious research for V A&M, but it's totally believable: Before Virginia Tech was founded in 1872 there were several proposals on how to disperse the Morril Act funds for a agricultural and mechanical school and many of them suggested moving an existing school to Richmond, notably William & Mary!
