Agreed. If the move is approved by the owners and it become publicly known, you’ll be able to walk the Coliseum and shake ever fan in attendance’s hand by the end of the second inning. It’ll be bad enough finishing out this year, they won’t play out the current lease. Sand given the feeling in the city, I wouldn’t count on a lease extension to cover the rest of the years to 2028. No they’ll either tough out a couple of years at Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin, or find some other temp venue that’s slightly more temperate, like Sacramento.
I would imagine October 1 will be the Oakland Athletics final curtain call.
I seriously doubt the Rivercats will share their ballpark with the A's, even for a couple years, when they're now the Giants affiliate.

Fisher took over for Lew Wolff, who got Quakes 2 up and running after AEG moved Quakes 1 to Houston to become the Dynamo. Speaking of, who exactly do you think saved soccer in the Bay Area by leading the effort to build PayPal Park in San Jose.
DAVE KAVAL. (Let’s vilify him too lol)
It’s literally the reason why the A’s hired him. To help negotiate a deal to save the A’s in Oakland. This game has literally been on going since HOK study in Uptown Oakland in 2002. Every other professional sports owner would’ve relocated 5 years tops. Fisher remained, extending leases at a dilapidated Coliseum for 18 YEARS. And it got him nothing from Oakland in the end:
Hey Dog, it's the Bay Area. Taxpayers are not going to fork over money for stadiums.

Fisher also owns the Earthquakes. Yikes.

The Athletics brand has been around for 122 years. The Raiders for 63 years. Neither brand is going away no matter what city or cities they've relocated to.

Not a fun time to be a Miami/South Florida sports fan right now. I believe this happened in 2016 as well when the Warriors & Sharks (Bay Area) lost to the Cavs & Penguins.

No boos for Gary Bettman.
With out him, Vegas probably wouldn't have a hockey team.

Jags will probably play 2 games in London (maybe 3) and maybe split the rest between Orlando, Gainesville & Tallahassee.

Happy for the Nuggets and Coach Malone.

The bad news about the Nuggets winning is that this is the third championship for Stan Kroenke.
Yep. Third straight. Rams. Avalanche. Nuggets.

Let's be honest. It's all about the logos & uniforms when it comes to these minor leagues. Critiquing how good or bad they are.

Virginia's only shot at a major league team is if Northern Virginia becomes the new home of the Washington Commanders.
Instead of Northern Virginia how about the Norfolk area for an NFL team. Virginia Commanders would fit that area with the Navy shipyards. They could draw from Northeastern North Carolina as well. It would open up Washington as a relocation threat or a billion dollar expansion location.

I'm saying both the XFL & USFL play one more season in 2024 and then call it a day. Also a return of a 16 team Arena Football League in 2024 is in the works. We'll see how that pans out.
-
Memphis & Oklahoma City could be in danger in the future when their owners come crying for new buildings. I don't see St. Louis happening, especially when their arena is almost 30 years old.
-
I'm looking forward to the day when MLS gets too oversized and some of the clubs leave and form a rival league.

Let's get nuts. OITGDNHL.
Coyotes stay in Arizona. NHL expands to 36 with Houston, Quebec, Portland & San Diego.
Probably belongs in the realignment thread but whatever:
Dallas & Houston go to the East.
Detroit & Columbus to the West, because it's the NHL & :censored:'em.
EASTERN CONFERENCE
Atlantic
New Jersey, NY Islanders, NY Rangers,
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington
Northeast
Boston, Buffalo, Montreal,
Ottawa, Quebec, Toronto
Southeast
Carolina, Dallas, Florida,
Houston, Nashville, Tampa Bay
WESTERN CONFERENCE
Central
Chicago, Columbus, Detroit,
Minnesota, St. Louis, Winnipeg
Northwest
Calgary, Colorado, Edmonton,
Portland, Seattle, Vancouver
Pacific
Anaheim, Arizona, Los Angeles,
San Diego, San Jose, Vegas

If Phil Knights ends up buying the Blazers & the Moda Center, Portland will be in the mix
