  1. RE: The greatest NFL Uniforms: I echo the sentiment with the Buccaneers. Their 1997 - 2013 uniforms need to be considered as one of the best. --Exceptional color scheme --No gimmicks, straightforward striping --Legible numbers --Fun but well-designed logo. It fits in so well with the traditional looks of Chicago, Green Bay, Cleveland, etc. while using a unique color scheme and fun iconography. IN THEORY their current uniform should be one of the best, but they can't get the blasted pewter right.
  2. You know, I absolutely hated the 2015 Browns uniforms, the 2014 Buccaneers, the 2013 Jags...but I like these Houston uniforms. If you like the number font, like I do, you'll probably find the set tolerable, as with many sets everything hinges on that font, and I like this one a lot. It's fun without being (my opinion) stupid and gaudy. That home uniform is great. Will look excellent 5-6 times a year. That collar looks fantastic. I LOVE the brighter red and how it pops on the blue. I'm hoping that they pair the alternate jersey with the white pants at least once. As long as they wear the navy pants and white socks, the away set is ALSO great (navy - white - navy looks good for any navy team). I KNOW it sounds crazy, but I'm enjoying these color rushes a lot. The bright blue and red are really singing off of the dark blue -- all of the accessories look bright, fun. I'm not as crazy about the bull helmet as other people are. I wish they had just put the standard logo on all of the helmets. The new secondary logo is fine, but it looks better on hats/jackets/accessories like teams utilize their secondary logos. I also think these will look better on the field than they do now. Overall, they aren't better than the Lions redesign, but definitely better than the Broncos.
  3. These look substantially better than the mock-up leaks.
  4. Any detailed analysis I have of the new Broncos uniforms is completely distracted by two things -- 1) The absolute insistence on matching the socks to the pants is straight up ruining these uniforms. How great would blue socks look on the home uniform? Or orange, as seen on the home uniform in the image from the Broncos shop? Looking at those white socks with white pants, more than any other uniform I've ever seen, totally distracts and RUINS the rest of the look. Same with any of the pants/sock monochromatic combos. Looks total bush league and drags the uniform down a great deal. 2) Maintaining navy was a mistake. This was an opportunity to lean into orange and get back into royal, and instead, the navy makes the uniforms look very generic. Very basic. In a way, it makes these new uniforms look like an AI-generated version of a Denver Broncos uniform (especially with the numbers on the away jersey still being navy). That being said, there's a lot I like. --The jerseys are great -- turning the logo's jawline into a mountain sleeve cap is fun, and a little bit of a 1966 homage. --The orange pants are awesome, and the stripes on the pants in general are unique and also fine. --There's more orange on the away jersey, which is a huge win. --It'll be interesting to see the different combinations they go with. The navy and orange pants will at least allow this team to mix and match instead of going orange/white and white/white. If they're smart, they'll go N/W/O/N on the road. And then of course, what I don't like. --5280 should just be gone. No one likes it. It's shoehorned and awkward. And collegiate. --That helmet stripe. Sigh. Just keep the same stripes. --The all-orange. It looked fine with the color rush. Not so much with this set. --You could get rid of all of the triangles and no one will notice. Ridiculous. Overall, this is kind of a lateral move -- not that conceptually different from the last set. A sharp logo on a fine helmet with some wonky design choices. I think they might look better on the field where you can't see the 5280s and triangles and weird shapes. Let's hope.
  5. Remember how the Jags 2018 threads sort of leaked before the airport fiasco? And how they were slightly different than what they ended up being (teal numbers on black jersey)? I think these jersey leaks are --almost-- what we're going to see, with minor differences. That would explain the Vikings inconsistencies. I bet all of the CTESPN leaks are prototypes/a few final tweaks away from the final products. Let's just hope they've...fixed some things. I can't wrap my head around the Giants sacrificing one of their excellent throwbacks in favor of a 1930s one. Am I crazy or are the 1980s/Color Rush throwbacks pretty popular amongst fans? If the Broncos are really going with that helmet -- what a boneheaded decision on their part. The current helmet, which is the only redeemable aspect of their uniforms, didn't need to be altered, and yet they did it anyway, and with triangles. Why are teams ripping off the Seahawks NOW? Why only on the back of the helmet? Why triangles? WHY?
  6. Those Broncos and Texans jerseys could have been A LOT worse. I keep hearing that Houston looks like the Titans now. But honestly, do we really think the Texans leaked jerseys are worse than what Tennessee is wearing??
  7. The Lions new uniforms are an example of a massive upgrade, but once again, the little things keep it from being 100% satisfying. Regardless, this is a great set. The home uniform is classic. That's ACTUAL SILVER on the sleeves, not grey! The stripes have a way of -sort of- looking like Northwestern stripes while also doing their own thing. The addition of the white just sings. It's a shame the blue pants don't have stripes because they're my favorite thing about the away set. As long as they keep the white socks with them, they'll look okay. They don't need white pants at all. So silly. Call me crazy, but the black uniform needed a silver or black helmet. You ALREADY look like the Panthers, so who cares? That way, the logo can stay blue instead of changing it to a (terrible looking) black logo on a blue helmet. In any event, it's better than the all-grey, which was downright awful. I think these will look great on the field. They're not perfect, but after 20+ years, the Lions finally look like the Lions again.
  8. I shouldn't like anything about this helmet for the Texans, but I do.
  9. I just want a Honolulu Blue facemask. Is that too much to ask?
  10. Major, major improvement from the last jerseys. The white numbers on the blue jerseys look better. The striping is better. The WCF mark is gone. Like it or not, the black is much better than the dirty dishwater grey, and will look better than the previous black alternates since it'll (probably) be paired with a black helmet. And hey -- they've gone back to block numbers! Obviously we'll need to see the big picture tonight, but so far this is the best Detroit has looked since...2002?
  11. Fair, but that's a different era of "Cleveland Browns with a white facemask."
  12. The brown facemask, for what it's worth, represented a new and (slightly) more successful era of Browns football. The white facemask just remind me of years of futility and quarterback hell. Count me in the minority, I guess.
  13. If my memory serves me correct, the Cardinals said that the uniforms were all-white, all-red, and all-black, full-stop, and boy did they stick to it.
  14. On one hand: Every team's draft hat has some sort of dropshadow. On the other hand: That ice blue is on the side state flag logo as well. On, somehow, a third hand: Didn't the team say the colors were remaining the same? So who knows.
  15. That Lions update has me about 30 percent less nervous.
