mr71
In what years were their caps blue with the red P? I bought one today and I think it's the 50's version but I am not too sure. Thanks!

sj32
The Phillies never wore blue caps in the 50's - They introduced all red caps with a white "P" in 1950 and kept them through 1969. If the cap is all royal blue with a red button and a red "P" outlined in white, you have a 1994 alternate (sometimes referred to as the "bad luck" cap). If the cap is navy with a red bill, button and "P" outlined in white (as pictured above), you have a 1946-49 cap.
mr71
Yeah, I figured it was from the 50's or from the late 40's due to the "P" that it had. It wasn't the bad luck caps from the 90's; that P is somewhat similar to what is being used today. I stayed away from those. I guess what I have is a "fashion" retro cap from the 46-49 season. Thanks again, all! After hearing the replies though, maybe I should pick up the bad luck cap. Why is it called that anyway? I do remember them being burned on TV.
