February 20, 2016 kontinental Hockey League unveiled its new style, which since the beginning of the playoffs becomes an integral part of it. The changes affect different sides of the Visual image of the League and are designed to make the perception of CHL a more modern and dynamic. This was reported on the website of the League.

The new style of the KHL is monochrome. Multicolor gives way to a combination of black and steel (mirror) colors associated with the puck on a brilliant ice blade and adds visual image of strength and vigor. Use more concise colours affected the appearance of the main element of the symbolism of the KHL-logo. Write abbreviations KHL became clearer, pronounced. In addition, created and alternative logo, which abbreviation is used independently. At the beginning of the playoffs in the new style are all arena official site and app KHL as well as licensed products.

At the presentation of the KHL President Dmitry Chernyshenko noted: "Hockey is one of the most dynamic sports, which is constantly changing and evolving. As reported by r-Sport, the structure and the KHL next season will not be changed, a calendar scheme filed for approval, is not expected to commence until 22 August.

Season calendar-2016/17 will take into account the fact of participating national teams of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Latvia in qualifying for the Olympic Games 2018 year. It is planned that the KHL regular season appearances for each command will not change.
