I like Whales, but I'd go for Whalers.

Although if you want a little more realism, you'd have to go for a French name... Despite having a Father McLeod as one of their settler, Chicoutimi doesn't look too "Square Head" to me...

I'd keep brainstorming a little on the water theme or on the original settlers (in French)
