Great badge. This could work.

But having vertical stripes beneath wavy horizontal stripes is going to make it look like a test pattern. And you can't see the blue stars/soccer ball on top of the blue stripes.

Since I am guessing you want the American flag motif from the present logo to be retained and be the prominent part of the badge, you should make the red stripes thicker and less wispy. Setting the flag against a thick horizontal white band would set it off well; the thick navy stripes would run behind the white band both above it and below it so you can retain the striping effect you're looking for.
