I'd love to be 10 years older, so that I could better remember the end of Bart Starr's career - I think that would be an apt comparison of growing ineffectiveness (other than the injury part).

I think Starr went down a lot quicker. Still solid in 1968 and 1969, but his shoulder was going out in 1970 and he was gone soon after.

As for the schedule-strength tiebreaker, I've got a good New York Times chart reprinted at my Packerama blog.
