Design a Ballpark for Topeka!

1st place, $5,500

2nd place, $4,500

3rd place, $3,500

(Funds will be provided from private contributions from the business community through GO Topeka, the economic development arm of the Greater Topeka Chamber.)

Just provide the City of Topeka with:

1. Basic schematic drawing

2. A cost estimate

3. Renderings that depict the character of baseball in Topeka

4. Information on submitters credentials and experience

5. Registration Form

6. Site Requirements / Other Activities

Contest presentations must be made September 27-29, 2007.

The particulars about what they want include:

* Concourse level entry

* 1,800 fixed seats, 700 bench seats in grandstand

* Min. 500 berm seats

* 2 dedicated picnic areas

* 8 concourse level luxury boxes (min 12 seats/box; 2 larger party sized ones)

* 12 open-air suites (min. 8 seats/suite)

* Min. 12 terrace tables (min. 4 seats/table)

* Ample restrooms,

* First aid, security and customer service areas

* Concessions for multiple vendors

* "Real" merchandise store (min. 1,500 sq. ft)

* 4 ticket windows (min. 600 sq. ft)

* Press box

* Kids play area

* Clubhouses (25 lockers/each), umpire room, dugouts, etc.

* Office space (min. 2K sq. ft)

Yeah, I have no real clue about this, beleive it or not. But figure a few of you could be interested....

3,000 capacity? That's an awfully small ballpark by even Frontier League standards. If I had the time and money to travel to Topeka to present, I would modify the stuff I did for you a couple years ago (I believe mine was about 5,000 capacity)...
