I wrote a paper about ballparks and city neighborhoods for an urban history class at the University of Wisconsin a few years ago, and mentioned Armour Park. I just happened across the above article, from back in the days when the Twins were threatening a move, and thought it might spark an interesting discussion.

An interesting note:

The estimated price tag for Coleman's plan: $325 million. Why so much? Have construction costs more than doubled since the late Eighties?

Now, eight years later, the Twins are building a new stadium. The cost? $522 million. Whoops.

That would have been a nice ball park. I wish the Mets did something like that.
