Webhamster
The mission patch for STS-119 (the 126th shuttle mission) was released today. The mission will deliver and assemble the fourth starboard Integrated Truss Segment (S6) and the fourth set of solar arrays and batteries to the International Space Station and is scheduled for launch no earlier than February 12, 2009.Crew:Lee Archambault (2) - CommanderDominic Antonelli (1) - PilotJoseph Acaba (1) - Mission Specialist 1/Educator AstronautSteven Swanson (2) - Mission Specialist 2Richard Arnold (1) - Mission Specialist 3/Educator AstronautJohn Phillips (3) - Mission Specialist 4Koichi Wakata (3) - ISS Flight Engineer (Japan) (Launching to ISS Expedition 18)Sandra Magnus (2) - ISS Flight Engineer (Landing from ISS Expedition 18)(Number in parentheses indicates number of spaceflights by each individual prior to, and including this mission.)Given the number of crewmembers whose names start with A on this flight, I think the patch echoing an A shape is an interesting idea. I'm also going to assume that the pinkish hue is just a bad color conversion to jpeg and that it's actually redder. And since it's launching a crew member to Expedition 18 and landing one from the same expedition here's the Expedition 18 crew patch:
