Mings Posted November 17, 2010 Share Posted November 17, 2010 Hey guys,I'm putting the finishing touches of my studio project for this semester which was a market on Bayou St. John. For those that don't know, the site is steeped in history as it is one of the first settlement areas in New Orleans, but the Bayou has been downplayed in favor of using it as an outfall canal in recent years. The main objective of my project is to stitch the sides together, since on one side is largely industrial and the other residential. By using a variety of scales and a unifying roof, I believe I have done that. One other note, the Bayou Bougaloo music festival as well as other festivals are at the site throughout the year, so I incorporated that into my market. Some of the renderings and diagrams are unfinished but the gist of the project is in the presentation boards.
