New Bengals’ fight song drops before the big game.

When the Rams released their current look I proclaimed the bone jersey to be the worst (primary) uniform in North American sports history. I'm not sure if any one piece of this can reach the ineptitude of the Rams' bone, but the package as a whole easily tops them. How can this be two years of work?

From what I’ve observed so far even the “normies” aren’t loving these. Seeing far fewer than for previous releases. The real test will be tomorrow of course.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Bengals have never lost a conference championship game. 3-0!

When was the last time an AFC South team hasn’t played in the Saturday early game?

Why are the eyes green and not Carolina blue?

How long until somebody makes that Anakin/Padme meme saying, “That means ads are coming off the helmets, right?”

They look great, but I can’t help thinking that they could really use a contrasting collar.

45 minutes every time you go to a game is a big deal if you're local, though. You work a full day and then you're faced with watching the game at home vs. commuting 90 minutes in your car and it's easy to see why people make the choice not to go to the ballpark. Let me ask, is 35 minutes a typical travel distance for Brewers fans or is that on the higher end? I feel like even situated where it is Miller Park is pretty centrally located. Same with Kauffman Stadium and the others that aren't right in the heart of a downtown. Tropicana Field, though, is a journey to get to for most parts of the media market. When I was in Tampa for work I stayed next to the airport and I drove to Tropicana Field just to check it out. This was around 8:30pm and it took me over 30 minutes one way. That's from a point on the map that is pretty central in the city.
Absolutely, stadium location is factor number one for the Rays attendance situation. I used to live in downtown St. Pete, I could walk to the stadium on a whim and grab a cheap seat. Did it all the time. Once I moved to Safety Harbor (right across the bay from the Tampa airport) I think I went to two games in four years. The travel time from Tampa gets discussed often, but coming from northern Pinellas county might be even worse.

The new city flag craze has moved to Tampa. Nothing official yet, but locals have finally realized that the current look is not great.
All of those proposed replacements are pretty bad.

Looks like they made the right choice and went with the magnolia flag. It will be on the ballot in November. It's a top tier US state flag IMO. Drop the words and it could be battling it out for second place. New Mexico rules all other state flags of course.

I became irrational excited when I saw the announcement this morning. I'll happily pay the $99. I don't think I've visited another sports website since they all left Deadspin.

Should be the Dickory Docks.

I'm sure I have posted this before a couple of hundred posts ago, but the current Brewers look (before they changed the pants) is the best they've ever had. The wheat hat is soooooo much better then BiG could ever hope to be.
I wouldn't mind a return to royal and yellow though. This logo could still work in those colors!

Flipping through TV I happened to catch some highlights from last NFL season when it dawned on me that my favorite Ravens combo is black jersey/purple pants. I hated the black jersey previously, hate the black pants too. They definitely need some updates, and I typically hate teams ditching a nice bright color like purple for black. However, when the Ravens finally do modernize, I kinda hope they go B/B/P/B. Of course, pairing purple socks with the black pants would probably be just as good.

No chance of them leaving, but close your eyes and imagine this scenario. Team announces they are going to LV. Press conference is happening on the strip with all of the acrobats, "Lets get ready to rumble" guy, chorus line girls, etc... Mike Trout steps out from behind a curtain... He's wearing the new Sin City Angels uniform. CCSLC explodes.

My favorite Seahawks unis, by far, were the ‘02-‘11 set. I loved the lighter shade of blue that they used and it had the perfect amount of that bright green.

I really dislike that halo Angels cap. If something like that were released today everybody on the board would say that it looks, "minor league" and "amateurish".

I'll be honest, I haven't really been keeping up with all of the specifics in this situation, but what's the problem with Kansas City exactly? Yeah it's not as "sexy" as Seattle or a slam dunk like Quebec but they have the arena ready to go. Bonus: Realignment is an easy fix.

The guy in the article also states "Midwestern universities" are being looked at. Kansas?
Damn, beat to it by a min.

So this link was posted on Reddit yesterday, it is a blog post written by a former TV executive in 2010 (before any of this started) that looks at the potential value schools add to the BTN. Texas is number one on his list, but the next three are Rutgers, Nebraska and Maryland. If this guy is truly the Nate Silver of conference realignment then I would look for Boston College and Kansas to be the next schools to get invites, assuming that Notre Dame and Texas don't change their minds.

here is an unpopular opinion. i think the steelers uniforms are terrible. the sleeve strips are huge, the font sucks, an update(but not a crazy change) is in order. I'd drop the sleeve stripes to 3, and change to a font(not athletic block font but something different, something "tough" like steel). I would maybe switch the pants up a little as well.
The Steelers uniforms no longer work with modern cuts and, as a Steeler fan, I would propose a fairly drastic change. I would love to see them go the same route as Northwestern and put the stripes across the chest of th jersey.

I don't mind monochrome in the NFL so long as the team wears white or different colored socks. I should refine this point and say that color socks should NEVER match the pants even if the team is wearing their white jerseys. Exception for all white monochrome, that works.
