  1. folks i dont know if this goes in the euorpean football thread, but i feel this deserves its own thread.

Tottenham's FA Cup game against Bolton Wanderers has been abandoned after Trotters midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed and stopped breathing.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17417973 has one story

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/mar/17/fa-cup-tottenham-bolton-mbm hs minute by minute updates.

if you go to bbc.co.uk/radio and click on 5 live, they're doing live updates as well

football doesnt matter right now, i just hope this man pulls through

  2. i remember hearing a rule, i dont know if it's still in force, that you cant use a baseball as a part of the uniform(on a hat, etc) so you may wanna fix the marlins hat....

  3. and that';s fine. congrats. you were founded earlier than us. still doesnt mean you didnt take our colors.

Yeah, it does. The Impact have been wearing blue, black, and white since 1992. The Clash/Earthquakes didn't start wearing those colours until 2000. If anything San Jose copied Montreal.

    Good point.

You can "own" the original Clash colors, and the Impact can have these. :P

how about montreal has blue and silver, and san jose gets blue/white/black? :P

  4. we are the earthquakes! san jose! and we s**t on the galaxyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! these shirts look like they should be san jose's shirts. way to rip us off montreal

also, the Impact have been around longer than the MLS quakes.

the MLS quakes started with the league , in 1996. we were the clash then, but it was the same franchise. so montreal ripped us off, in my opinion. i have no clue why this version of the quakes went with black jerseys. alot of the fans here hate the black jerseys.

The Montreal Impact was founded in december 1992: My link

But these Montreal Impact (Impacts?) were founded in 2010. :P

    Link

of course if he wants to say that, i could say the quakes were founded in 1970, in the NASL..... :P

  5. and that';s fine. congrats. you were founded earlier than us. still doesnt mean you didnt take our colors. i would have no prolbems if ya guys had silver shorts with the blue jersey, but blue-blue-blue looks like a combo the quakes have worn. and i remember hearing the league wouldnt let us have blue jerseys when we came back. so yeah, kinda upsetting to see you guys get it and not us. addidas said they didnt make jerseys in the color blue we had anymore, apparently......

  7. they're squished because i have to get them small enough to fit on the court in the positions i want them, if not then the logo would be over the whole court. the spelling thing i apologize for, i'm disabled and sometimes i dont notice the spelling errors until after they're saved and i cant fix them. i use paint.net to make these courts. on the darkness issue, i dont think there is one really. if it was an all orange court there would be a visibility issue, because the ball is that color. if you read the captions on the concepts, which i dont know if you did, you would know the reasoning behind why it's as dark as it is.

  8. the theme of the timberwolves is a forest at night, hence the slightly lighter trees. the opposite sideline text is meant to be that way, so people on the bench side of the arena dont see a blank sideline, the scripts are there because nobody really uses them on the sideline, they're usually more on the baseline. these are meant to be diffrent, more colorful for this HD era and stuff

You are using their outdated wordmark, FYI.

ok. unless they changed it this year, i didnt know that. news to me. the rest of the league is up. i have added descriptions to all courts to explain things.

EDIT: just had a thought, if someone wanted to come up with jersey ideas for this look of the NBA or something, PM me and maybe we can collaborate

  10. fox, that gold bridge logo is suppose to be like stain like how some teams do at center court, with the logo over it. i guess paint.net didn't have it come out how i wanted.the "mile high city" thing is from a NCAA tournament i remember i think it was in the 90s, that had that on it, so i thought it'd work. thanks for your C&C. i appreciate it.

  11. i hate the same old boring NBA courts they have had the last few seasons, and feel they need to liven things up. So i have been working on some. on some teams i changed the color schemes, some i've kept. i haven't done the whole league on this link yet, but i've got previous ones up on the picasa account, so feel free to check those out THE CONCEPTS

i now have descriptions of the courts on the page too. and please, as is tradition here, feel free to give C&C not" these concepts suck" either, please. and if you're more traditional with how you like NBA courts, you may or may not like these. no gurantees

  12. Maybe I'm just being prematurely nostalgic, but I think it was far superior to have a designated period of a few weeks in the middle of a long season for interleague play. Now, I guess we'll have to adjust and deal with it throughout. One casualty (I guess to the league, it'd be considered an upside) of two 15-team leagues is that lone intraleague NL series between the two leftover teams.

I would also much prefer to see Milwaukee return to the AL; there is legitimate precedent to keeping that an American League city. It's one of the original AL cities even.

We're pretty much forced into creating one 8- and one 7-team division per league. This might soften the blow for the Astros because they're going to go from many central time zone games to playing California clubs, etc.

    How about:

    1 Yankees

    2 Red Sox

    3 Rays

    4 Orioles

    5 Blue Jays

    6 Tigers

    7 Indians

    8 White Sox

(keeps the AL East intact...Detroit and Toronto have a close proximity and could develop a rivalry while keeping Detroit and Chicago together, and I believe those cities love going at it.)

    9. Angels

    10. Athletics

    11. Mariners

    12. Rangers

    13. Astros

    14. Twins

    15. Royals

(Seems logical -- you keep your west coast teams together, incorporate the all-Texas rivalry and keep one AL central two-some).

    1. Mets

    2. Phillies

    3. Nationals

    4. Braves

    5. Marlins

    6. Pirates

    7. Reds

    8. Cardinals

    9. Cubs

    10. Brewers

    11. Dodgers

    12. Giants

    13. Padres

    14. D-Backs

    15. Rockies

(It's easy / tempting to make your Eastern Divisions match up and go 8 apiece, but I believe the Cards/Cubs/Brewers are too linked to break them up. Pittsburgh has more of a connection with the Mets/Phillies and should stay there. I know Ohio and Pittsburgh don't like each other much, and the Reds/Pirates have waged a lot of wars over the last half-century, so let's keep them together).

    Meh?

    stop. reel. line. mint.

back on topic, i actually like the new florida marlins ornage cap, and may get one for myself

  13. until you have been molested then you have no right to throw stones at people when all the information has not been released.

    getting molested for credibility, brb

I was placed in an uncomfortable position as a child and when I told a family member about it they did not take it to the cops. They took care of the situation within the family and that is where I am basing my knowledge of this information. Did I turn on my family member for not exposing this? No. In fact, I am glad they never did because the embarrassment would have been too bad.

that is a sad thing, but the man who put you in that uncomfortable position, and the people you told should have told the cops as well, that person deserves to be in jail. when people do nothing to stop child abuse/kidtouching, they actually ENABLE it. that is WRONG. i would expect you to agree with that........

If I'd been in McQueary's place on that day in 2002, Sandusky wouldn't be the one going to prison. I would. For murdering Sandusky right there in the shower. They'd still be scraping bits of his brain matter off the tiles to this day.

Me too...I am just torn guys. I loved Joe Paterno for so many years and now I am mad, confused and simply do not know what to think. A part of me thinks he did the right thing, while the other part of me believes he could do more. I know working in Law Enforcement, I cannot say he broke the law because he didn't and that is why I am torn. The law and ethics are a bitch!

i wonder why i sound like a broken record for saying this again, but i will. PATERNO SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE COPS RIGHT AFTER HE TOLD HIS AD. he failed to do so, therefore he enabled chiuld molestation. that is SICK. he deserves what he gets.

I am not a fan of an enabler, I am just a fan of the truth.

the truth is joe paterno did nothing to stop this from happening, he didnt go to the cops, he should have gone to both the AD and the cops. for that, he is an enabler. THAT is my point. read the grand jury testimony and you'll agree

  16. well done penn state students, you are now rallying IN FAVOR OF pedophilia. you are showing the freaking world(it's on CNN too) how :censored:ing stupid you are. well :censored:ing done.

Paterno is and was not ever a pedophile!

No, he just enabled and protected a pedophile, giving that pedophile a place to rape kids.

He did not enable...he told his boss that a graduate student was put in an uncomfortable position..that is called following the chain of command. He did not break any law, yet you people throw him under the bus. Could he have done more? Sure. But to say that he is a pedophile is absolutely ridiculous. Until you have been in this type of situation, I feel that people should keep their mouth shut.

the guy was there in 2002, well after joepa knew. with that FACT, and the rumor he was there a few weeks ago, NOW what do you say? joe Paterno deserved to be fired, and honestly the big ten should expell penn state.
