  1. It's machine with serifs added and then skewed
  2. LeeRain, what in the world are you referring to?
  3. um mods? can we delete the spam please?
  4. None off the top of my head are really close but Gill Sans Condensed could do the trick well enough.
  5. Yeah pretty much with any professional organization you can count on them using licensed fonts to be purchased from type foundries.
  6. Klavika, Franklin Gothic, and what appears to be corporate condensed bold or swiss 721 condensed bold. an no, none of them are free.
  7. but in this case WTF would have you believe that was Caslon, upon which Fell Type is based. But it would be wrong. You can tell because of the irregularity of the capital S and W, and the lack of a ball terminal on the lowercase f's descender. H&F-J built all of the Historical Allsorts family with flaws and janky curves in it intentionally to give it a handcrafted look. Digital versions of Caslon don't have these irregularities. And besides, WTF doesn't sell Hoefler & Frere-Jones fonts, so that wouldn't even be in their database. So is it What the Font or do I have the eye? You tell me
  8. You got yourself some Fell Type Italic in the Historical Allsorts family by Hoefler & Frere-Jones sir http://typography.com/fonts/font_styles.php?productLineID=100012
  9. Looks like a little Myriad and some College Black
  10. the comcast typeface is custom made, but it's a hybrid of helvetica and futura with some other refinements
  11. Syracuse's fonts are custom and proprietary. You won't find them.
  12. Madden 11 appears to be a customized version of Process Type Foundry's Stratum
  13. @ Quillz: sounds to me like what you were trying to offset was knocked out and only appeared solid. You basically did the right thing - outlining the stroke and moving it to the back of your shape. Its best to work with these sort of things ungrouped. You may want to look in the outline preview mode too to see what paths are actually there. @ UniJ: Best way to create a "frosted" look in Illy is to use a combination of gradient fills and transparency blends and a lot of time and custom-done effort. You're not really going to find a fill pattern that looks convincing. Another option would be to find a picture of ice, increase the brightness/contrast in photoshop, livetrace it, then apply it as a texture overlay.
  14. That would be futura, either medium or bold italic.
  15. UNC uses a customized version of Machine.
  16. That would be Hoefler & Frere-Jones' Knockout
  17. it's not a knockoff greg - the first N in "nittany" and B in "budget" are set in fritz quadrata regular, while the rest of the words are bold
  18. "tickets" looks like Fairplex from Emigre Fonts to me.
  19. that would be done by typing your text on a path with the "skew" option chosen. and the font is custom made.
  20. it's FlareSerif if you're using the Corel font suite, or Albertus.
  21. i've found better luck using the save for web function than the export function, particularly where raster formats and transparency is involved. If you need a high res file (150dpi or higher) the best way is to open your file in photoshop and save from there.
