  1. Also, is there anyway we could see a defunct league section in all the league subsections?

Just taking a look at the Arena/Indoor Football Logos page, the only league that are current there are the AFL, IFL and NAL.  All the rest are defunct, so could we not see another section below listing all the defunct league like we see for the defunct teams in the league pages?  And could this be done for all the other league pages for all sports?

May I ask - where did you find some of those older logos? And could you make similar helmet histories for other teams?

I just googled some of them, got some info from the helmet project website for others, and tried recreating some of them the best I could.  Some of them may not be exactly what they looked like, but they are close I believe.

As for other teams, I may be able to but it did take a bit of work to do the Idaho ones so I would have to find some time.  I just wanted to do the Idaho ones as I grew up in Moscow, Idaho watching the Vandals play, and I was hoping to help get the logo site updated with the Idaho helmets.  Thanks for the comments.

  4. I was just thinking about this the other day and wondering if the NBA is thinking about expansion anytime soon. I know there has been talk about expanding into Europe but why not add a couple teams here in the states first. Here is my idea for a 32 team NBA. I created two new divisions and made 8 -4 team divisions with 2 new teams. The first no brainer is to bring back the Seattle Sonics. And the second team I thought could be a team in St. Louis. For divisional alignment I thought that would be a good choice. They could call them the Bombers or the Spirits as a couple past teams were named in St. Louis. They would both go the Western Conference and then Memphis could move over to the Eastern Conference. Let me know what you think or what other teams you think might be better suited for joining the NBA.

  5. Too bad for the Flames team. I liked seeing the old flaming "A" logo again on a jersey.

It would be nice to see a more balanced AHL with teams closer to there affiliates. For future moves, the Coyotes should move the Portland Pirates from Maine to Oregon, the Canucks can move the Comets to Seattle and the Jets could move the Ice Caps to Minnesota or North Dakota .

  6. Hey guys,

Haven't been on here for a while but I was thinking the other day about the NFL expanding again. I thought why not get on here and see what some of you think about it. Maybe this thread is in the wrong place (not really about logos but if anyone has a idea for a team name and logo for these cities below, by all means, go ahead and post them) but here it goes. The way I see it, in order keep continuity to what they already have (division, schedule, rivalries) I don't think they do any less than expanding but 8 more teams. This would keep the same 4 divisions in each conference but with 5 teams each. To keep the schedule makers happy, they would need to go to an 18 game schedule. They have talked about this already so it in not out of the realm of possibilities. This would keep teams playing their division twice a year (4 x 2 = 8 games) and then still keep playing another 2 full divisions once (5 x 2 = 10 games) on a rotating basis between all the divisions in the league. I think this is a great way to make NFL expansion work.

They only question remains is what cities get expansion teams. I know there has been a lot of talk on this everywhere, including this forum. But for more discussion's sake, here is my top eight US/Canadian cities to get expansion teams. I think I might even get a concept thread going on this soon as well.

    1. LA
    2. Anaheim (LA x 2)
    3. Toronto
    4. Vancouver
    5. San Antonio
    6. Las Vegas
    7. Portland, OR
    8. Oklahoma City

Honorable mentions: Montreal, Orlando, Norfolk VA, Omaha Neb, Honolulu HI

And if we want to talk about international teams, besides Canada, then here are my top international cities for NFL expansion teams.

    1. London
    2. Berlin
    3. Mexico City
    4. Tokyo

Honorable mentions: Beijing China, Amsterdam, Sydney Aus, Rio de Janeiro Brazil
