This is more a question for when we come to it. Because there are technically only 2 other teams that play in the area (49ers in Santa Clara and the Earthquakes) are the sharks going to have the Giants and or Warriors as options.

Yes, when it comes to that type of situation it'll closest proximity or most relatable area (like the Bay area in your example). Also was just thinking it could include minor league teams, but maybe that'll be too much.

For a fun creative challenge, I am starting this series of crossovers with the following parameters:

    1. A concept for each NHL city to be replaced with a team identity from another team from its immediate area (as close as possible).
    2. I will post a poll of options and ask you all to vote on which identity to cross over, which I will then create.
    3. Crossovers may include direct identity transfers applied to NHL uniform standards, but they will not have to be that either. Could be same name and colors but different logo, for example. Could also be a blend of the two (NHL and chosen team)
    4. I will do my best to compile the options for each team, however will also allow for write-in vote if I miss one.

  3. I legit struggled for about 5 minutes to come up with a title for this thread, but it's just going to be concepts of teams pulled out of the ether, call them expansion teams, fantasy teams, whatever. Just some hockey uniform concepts. i dunno.

First up is one that is based on one of the old NHL09 sim leagues i was a part of, the Alaska Lynx. Logo I downloaded from vecteezy and edited colors, (credit to artist bazzier graphik). Colors are a blueish gray the Portland Winterhawks rebranded with, and dark navy and orange.  Also included are an alternate and a Winter Classic uniform.

You had the away jersey right from the start! Beautiful jerseys. Red & orange reminds me of a mesa or a canyon. Only suggestion would be to change the collar colors to red with black trim away and black with orange trim at home.

Exactly. It really inserted the desert feel into the uniforms and I think the orange pops and balances things a bit.

  5. Some different options for the road sweater. I'm having trouble deciding. leaning towards middle, but do like the one level down of simplicity the third one has without the extra stripes. Also, each one is colored differently on purpose because i can't decide on right combination, but i think the left arm (farthest right) may look the best.

  6. Playing around with an idea, i started with this home jersey minus the orange in the stripes, and really liked how it made the logos stand out, so i tried this and feel like it compliments the set well to give them a little color but still the desert tones, and it actually ties it with the Roadrunners as well since they use the orange in their uniforms. I will post each full uniform but i'm trying to figure the road socks.

  7. Alternatively, seeing how nice the white centennial jersey is i wonder if this could work too for a change of pace. I know people want the return of gold socks, but to me it only works with gold yokes. The hem stripes don't reach the bottom, as i feel it somewhat modernizes the design. Ideally i'd love to see an updated bear logo that's similar to the 'meth bear', maybe a '9 months clean out of rehab bear'.

  8. Just putting down what I would like to see the Bruins do next season to change up the look a little using the new logos from this season. The home is mainly the same, new logo and gold socks. The road has two options, mainly gold or mainly black (as it is now).

  9. All the Bruins need to do is put the new logos on the regular jerseys, gold socks with b/w/b stripe for the home, and maybe update the road to have gold yoke and keep the striping the same from the home. Basically the 70s look but with the updated template.

  10. wow, not what i was expecting at all but i'm actually happy about that. I'm curious to see the explanation for the design.  The shiny gold doesn't look as bad as i pictured in my head.

i am still glad it's just for one season because i don't think they're better than the normal uniforms. the black would make a good alternate though.

Looks great again. I think the Johnny head looks better when it’s anchored by something though. It could be a V like in your original concept, or something else entirely. Just some food for thought.

Yeah I was actually thinking about that. Thought about maybe a “Canucks” wordmark to call back to the skate logo slanting along the bottom

  12. Thanks everyone. I'm actually revisiting this logo and the secondary mark to clean up some of the lines and stuff, so i'll post an update. I still feel the right side behind the white cheek/eye line is missing something, or an element that better ties it together. Been trying to think of an alternate uniform as well so we'll see where that takes me.

  13. Since I’m about to lose, bummer, here is what would have been my next submission.

Coming up with a fresh new Heritage Classic uniform for the Canucks was hard. I did as much research as I could and they’ve already done the Millionaires, their vintage white ones with the v in the arms, this reverse retro. So I did revisit the Millionaires, but with a new twist. Also made a simple Heritage Classic logo.
