I'll still wait it out with baited breath. They could easily have it ready for the NHL by playoff time.

However, I would like to see if the regionals will adopt it soon. I'm sure it's too late to switch for the NBA, so my hope is maybe the MLB games will have it by Opening Day.

Yeah you're right I would love to see it on MLB games and they're saving the graphics for the NHL Playoff or the Stanley Cup

Oh man, I forgot about that. I just recently moved back to Comcast Xfinity cable for the first time since 2007 and I found KICU in the channel lineup and had some nostalgia about that era. I love when sports are on local TV like that, it's sort of a lost art now cause everyhting is on Fox Sports or NBC Sports.

I remember there was a rain delay for an A's game once on KICU and the corner logo during That 70's Show wasn't the network graphic, instead it was the A's logo with an umbrella over it saying Rain Delay in place of Oakland Athletics. It was pretty cool.

That's cool and clever San Diego XETV 6 did the same with the Padres they were showing Still Standing during the rain delay and instead of CW6 they had the friar swinging an umbrella instead of the bat

  3. Yeah, those NBA Live 98 graphics were awesome for it's time. I'm still a little surprised 2K hasn't tried to make their scorebugs and graphics like NBATV or even TNT. IIRC, wasn't the font used for that the same font for the Broncos names?

Also another great 90's basketball game graphics package was NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC. Had the NBA on NBC theme song and full graphics package. It's funny how it was probably the most authentic graphics package for 1999 and it was used for a 3-D NBA Jam evolution with players as muscular as Mr. Olympias.

I know what you mean but then again I love the NBA 2K graphics cause just like MLB The Show they make it like if those were real network. Speaking of 2K I used to loved how they used the ESPN graphics for NFL 2K5!
  4. I know I am opening the can of worms doing this...but what was probably the first thing to use a fixed graphic showing the score of the game? Videogames of course!

Here is the NHL Series from the genesis...(NHL Hockey, NHLPA 93, NHL 94 and NHL 95)

Interestingly got NHL 96 - 98 they changed it probably to look more like TV at the time, so they went with just a clock and the score would come up during faceoffs. They would use the exact same graphics for Nhl 97 and 98.

Love the. NHL 95 graphics was the best kinda reminded me of the CBS graphics from 91-97.
  5. On this subject, does anybody remember the New Years Eve game between the 49ers/Broncos in 2006? The bad snow storms in Denver caused the Fox trucks not to get their, so they used stuff from Fox Sports Rocky Mountain, and thus for probably the only time ever, you saw Fox Sports Net graphics during an NFL game. Watching that game was weird because the picture quality clearly wasn't on the normal level of the typical Fox Broadcast, I didn't have an HDTV at the time but even then you could just tell how off it looked. Also, the grass looked awful.

Poor quality, but this is from the game you're talking about:

I remember and damn shame FOX didn't used the FSN graphics look so clean.

  6. How about this?

The Lightning also played the Minnesota North Stars in their first season, and the last for Minnesota.

Those uniforms were used together for seven years... granted the Bucs and Bolts didn't play each other that often, but this match-up doesn't look "weird" to me.

That what I was thinking plus I remember the Buccaneers played the Chargers in San Diego back in 1992.

Speaking of the Bucs I just remember they played the Jets in 97 the last year the Jets wore those famous green helmet.

  7. In 2002, the Dodgers traveled to Tampa. In 2005, they played the other four AL East teams. In 2007 they went to Tampa again, and did not meet in 2010 (DET, BOS, NYY, ANA).

All right I got it just checking and I just thought another one..

1999 the Dodgers with their new road uni vs both the Astros & Brewers

  8. I know for a fact that the Rays and Expos happened. But the Marlins and Expos were in the same division since 1993, so I'm not sure what he was thinking.

How about Brooklyn Dodgers vs the Rays?

    The Rays wore this too

Fun fact: the only stadium the Rays have never played in is Dodger Stadium, and that changes this summer.

    How about this?

The Lightning also played the Minnesota North Stars in their first season, and the last for Minnesota.

Are you sure cause I think the Rays played the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium back in 2003

  9. IM surprised no one said the 1995 Browns playing the Jaguars twice before they moved to Baltimore.

Probably because the current Browns wear the same basic unis, thus negating the entire reason that would be in this thread.

You're probably right I didn't thought about that.

    BTW

I just remember 2006 Chargers-Cardinals where the Bolts wore those 87-06 uni plying the Cardinals in those current look!!
