Pac-12 decides against expansionAssociated Press
SAN FRANCISCO -- The Pac-12 Conference is standing pat for now.
The league's presidents and chancellors voted late Tuesday night to reaffirm their decision to stay at a dozen members. Commissioner Larry Scott says "after careful review we have determined that it is in the best interests of our member institutions, student-athletes and fans to remain a 12-team conference."
Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech were among those considering a potential move from the Big 12. After expanding from the Pac-10 with new members Utah and Colorado last year, members of the new Pac-12 won't give them the chance.
The league already negotiated a landmark 12-year television contract with Fox and ESPN worth about $3 billion. And it appears plenty happy at a dozen.

Just for :censored:s and giggles
The new Big East football conference
EAST
Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis, South Florida, UCF, West Virginia
WEST
Baylor, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, TCU
Assuming you have UConn and Rutgers in the ACC.

Hearing Louisville and Missouri

I agree that's the wrong jersey, but not the wrong team. I think Griffey has two right teams (or however you want to say it), Seattle and Cincy. But to my original point, when I think of griffey with the Reds, i think of him in the vests with black sleeves
I could not disagree more.
The only right uniform.

Does this work?
PAC-16
East: Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Utah (8)
West- USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State (8)
ACC:
Atlantic: Pittsburgh, Syracuse, UConn, Rutgers, Boston College, Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech (8)
Coastal: Duke, North Carolina, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, NC State, Wake Forest (8)
SEC:
East: Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Louisville, South Florida (8)
West: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M (8)
B1G
Legends: Minnesota, Michigan, Northwestern, Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State (8)
Leaders: Wisconsin, Ohio State, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, Penn State, Notre Dame, Missouri (8)

Now the SEC has to get off their rearends and start adding teams.
They have to add at least one more in to go along with aTm. They could just decide to go 16, too.
WVU. That's all they need.

Pac12 commish Larry Scott didn't say this, but others telling me it's still Oklahoma's intent to try to join the Pac12 this coming week. -
This is the death of the Big East. With Pitt and Syracuse going to the ACC and Boston College already there, look for UConn and one other school to apply to the ACC to create a 16-school 'superconference.' There's no way the conference survives that.
There's talk that 8-10 schools have applied the the ACC. It's possible that just Cuse and Pitt were the only leaked names.
Big East schools?
Pitt, Cuse, UConn, Rutgers, South Florida, Louisville, Cincy, WVU?
-
Certainly adds to the "Texas to the ACC" talk. Or the ACC is anticipating an SEC raid.
So when will the Big Ten get involved again?
Supposedly, the ACC has no problem with Texas keeping the Longhorn Network, unlike the Pac-12 and SEC do. And, Texas would still be a big fish in the ACC.
That's because with Florida State and Va Tech as their only real possible threat, they'd dominate the ACC.
Isn't that what people said about Miami joining the ACC in 2005?
The U isn't at the level Texas is.
Coming off a 5-7 season, and looking somewhat suspect this season as well?
lol... come on thats like saying the Yankees aren't an top team because they had a few bad seasons. Texas has been a powerhouse for over half a century.

If Texas joins the ACC, the ACC should change their name.

Wendel Clark with Quebec and the Isles
Dougie Gilmour with the Devils, Blackhawks, Buffalo, and the Habs

Big Ben is going to love Cotchery, he's willing to take punishment over the middle. I'm still pissed we replaced 29 year old Cotchery with a 37 year old Derrick Mason. But Cotchery didn't want to be here. He said because of playing time, but that doesn't make any sense, considering he was the 3rd receiver for the Jets. He's at least the 3rd reciever on the Steelers after Hines Ward and Mike Wallace, and probably after Antonio Brown, maybe even Emmanuel Sanders. Lets just say the Steelers have more receiving options than the Jets, who before Cotchery asked for his release, had Santinio Holmes and Plaxico Burress, plus rookies and 2nd year players Patrick Turner and Jeremy Kerley, though those 2 would clearly take a back seat to Cotchery.

Long-time New York Jet Jerricho Cotchery

Roger Clemens - Astros
Roger Clemens - Blue Jays
Who gives a crap about Roger Clemens, that's ANDY PETTITTE not in Yankee pinstripes. I still can't believe that happened. That was so bizarre. Thank heaven he came back.

maybe you guys are too young to remember, but he spent more years playing in KC than he did in Boston or New York. Even as a Yankee fan, I don't think of Reggie Jackson as a Yankee, he's an Oakland Athletic in my eyes.
-
And also these ones of Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez
Always Red Sox to me.
Damon doesn't have 1 team. He was drafted and spent 6 seasons in KC. He won a championship in both New York and Boston, spending 4 seasons in each city. I believe I heard a few weeks ago he said he would want to go into the HOF as a Royal, if he got it.
When I think of Johnny Damon, I don't think "Man, what a true Royal." I think of him as being with the Idiots on the Red Sox. Like it or not, his glory days were with Boston. People will remember for the beard and being the catalyst for the Red Sox for their curse-breaking 2004 season.
I'm not forcing you to think like me. You can think that his one "true" team is the Rays for all I care. I'm simply stating that I think he'll be remembered as a member of the Red Sox first and foremost. That's how I'll remember him.
Well, you're a Red Sox fan, so that's not surprising, I'm a Yankee fan,I don't think of him as a Yankees, I think of him as a journey man.... Who spent big chunks of his career in 3 cities, and short stops in 2 other cities. And when you say "glory days" what does that even mean? He arguably had better years in New York, his OPS is higher in NY than it was in Boston, and he won a championship, and was a big part of both, in New York and Boston.

This will go down like Piazza in a Marlins uni, very short stop between long stints in other cities.

After spending a majority of his career in Seattle and New York, this looks odd

I hope TCU does bolt, they don't belong in the BIG EAST.
