Is branding mandated by the conference? Or perhaps the schools want to make clear their conference affiliations for recruits.

I think that the conference wants the new logo to go in effect at a specific time, and USA was laying down new turf and to be in compliance with the SBC, they put the logo in now, earlier than the required date.

Hmm...I didn't see this posted in the last 2 weeks so wanted to share the new Defenders and Dragons secondaries.

Where did you find those? I've been trying to contact the XFL for logo sheets or anything with the primary and secondary logos, but no luck. I really want to know the exact colors they are using and what all the secondary logos are.

  3. So is Seattle's official primary color blue or green? I honestly don't know. Their logo is primarily green, with little blue. But their home uniforms are blue. And the score bug on Fox shows blue as the primary color, but last week's ESPN bug showed green. The stadium is dressed mainly in orange and their away uniforms features pretty much no blue.

    So which is it?

That's a good college design. AAF teams taking the Boise State helmet idea didn't work. Heck, Atlanta swapped to a more traditional helmet after one game and I hoped the rest would have followed.

    blue pants would look better.

We never actually used that format. The plan was to always have the crown on both sides. It was just a matter of the marketing department mixing up our intentions.

I find it odd that the two better known schools in the MEAC are leaving for greener pastures (so to speak).

I wonder what the expansion plan is for the MEAC. The only remaining HBCUs that they could add are in D2. I find it unlikely that Tennessee State would leave the OVC for the MEAC. Nor do I think any SWAC school would jump ship. D2 is pretty much the only place to go. Further, Kentucky State is planning on moving up to D1 and have been eyeing the OVC. I wonder what they would do if the MEAC were to make them an offer.

  6. I'm simply disappointed in the lack of color and creativity in the field designs. It's bad enough that it's the XFL logo at midfield, but the endzones are not fully painted, the text is all the same, just with color variations, and the Progressive logo! I suspect that they are being limited in what they can do rather that this being a free choice.

Say what you will about the AAF, but they had much more colorful field designs.

Technically they're owned by Alpha Entertainment.  Technically.

Interesting that the other team didn't play on the same field.

I should clarify. The penalties were being called on us and not on them. They too were slipping out of their stances all night, it just wasn't called on them because they were the #2 team in the state and we weren't.

The long term speculation is that eventually Globe Life Park will be the new home of Arlington ISD football and eventually would be the home of UT-Arlington if they get football back, which seems doubtful.  The stadium is right next door to the new Rangers Ballpark Globe Life Field and across the street from Jerry World.  The XFL is the reason Globe Life Park is still in use as a sporting venue.

I thought that Globe Life Park was going to be the Renegades' stadium. As in they (the XFL) owned it.

I think that's any fanbase. There was a rock concert at Jacobs Field that ruined the outfield grass in the late 90's/ early 2000's. Fans were against the team doing that ever again. But since team's need to pay the bills that still happens. It's partly why Mapfre Stadium has a stage for their summer rock concerts, at the cost of permanent seating.

My high school football stadium was over 100 years old and was like a city historical site. Naturally, we took pride in our stadium. One thing that pissed us off was that the Catholic high school would play all their "home" games at our stadium. Besides the issues of pride and the Catholic school's staff during game days, there were two main points that annoyed us. 1) Our field was grass and every week the stadium was hosting us or them. I recall one time where it had been raining the week before and the Catholic school tore up the field so bad, that by the time our game rolled around next Friday, in which it was also raining, the entire field was a mud pit. It was so bad that our team got false start penalties that cost us the game, because out players were sliding in the mud while just trying to get into a three point stance. 2) The Catholic high school had more that enough money to build their own stadium. The school had been around for more that 60 years at that point and never build one, despite being the 2nd richest private school in the state. They refused to build their own stadium, but used outs. Eventually they did build their own stadium, but not until years later.

In relation to the soccer teams and the XFL; I don't see what the soccer teams would have to get upset about. Ok there is the issue of tearing up the field if it was grass, but these are pro franchises that spend millions of dollars for professional upkeep, so they should be able to do a better job at keeping the field green over our high school volunteers. And if it's turf? So what?

I'd assume it's because they couldn't get deal with a big apparel company. Seems like this would have been perfect for Under Armour or Adidas since they had an AAF deal.

I'm actually shocked that the uniforms nice though.

    AAF had New Era hats.

the AAF had some worse field designs, especially in Salt Lake City, when the stitching could not be removed from the field.

How can you say that Salt Lake had the worst when they could't even change the design? That's not their fault and to say that their field design was bad is not fair to the team. I'm sure had they been allowed to do something with the field, it would have been good.

What fields are you talking about anyway? Honesty the worst of the bunch might have been Orlando, but that's only because their endzones were boring.

Who does your friend think the uniform supplier is going to be?  Nike? Reebok? Adidas?  New Era?

I did read somewhere that the team presidents know what the uniforms look like.

I didn't ask. I honestly was more curious if DC was going to have white or red helmets.

That is weird.  I would have thought that they would have their uniforms done by now and were waiting for them to be released in time for Black Friday, if not at least by Christmas.

It's entirely possible that the uniforms are indeed done and they they simply haven't informed the teams or, at least, the EQ managers. Why the secrecy? Beats me.

Does he actually have equipment to store in a room in DC or has he been told that it will be waiting for him in Houston?

Hell, is he even in the Beltway now?

My understanding is that yes he is in the DC area. Where? I don't know.

When we were in the AAF together, we were given information about our uniforms, mockups and such, before we left for training camp in December and we got the uniforms and helmets delivered to us once we got to San Antonio. I would imagine that something similar is happening with the XFL, but by this point last year we at least knew we had purple helmets. He can't even tell me the helmet color at this point.

  16. I have a friend who is the Head Equipment Manager for the DC Defenders. I spoke to him yesterday, asking him if he could give me any "hints" about their uniforms. His response; "no idea".

Rather odd that the equipment manager, in November, doesn't know what the uniforms will look like.

Well that was a little harsh. Not all of them but some.

The refinery one definitely will be with Houston likers the Oilers. The flying one has nothing to do with NASA; if so it would be more spaced themed. And some of the city associations are off to me

My thought behind that was that before NASA took over space exploration, it was part of the US Air Force. So, to me at least, there is some connection there, especially if it is in Houston.
